Disclaimer: Neither Tyson or Kai are mine. I'm just borrowing them for a while.
AN- Story came from thefirstline challenge over on LJ. Challenge requirements were to start the story with the line "Drop it." and the object challenge was a clock. This is written a little differently, for some reason I wrote it in present tense, but when I tried rewriting it, it really didn't come out very well so I've left it as it is. Enjoy and please review.
Dropping In
"Drop it."
The voice is unexpected, and Kai jumps at least three foot in the air, swearing under his breath as the voice repeats the command. He doesn't recognise it from anywhere, although they sound a little familiar to him and Kai raises his hands either side of his head to show whoever's behind him that he's not holding anything.
The second hand ticks loudly round the clock sitting on the mantle as Kai slowly turns round in the darkness.
"Jesus, Kai!" the voice says and now he knows who it is.
There's a sharp click as the lights are flicked on and Kai blinks against the sudden brightness flooding the room. Standing in the doorway, Tyson does the same and raises a hand to rub his neck.
"What the hell are you doing here, Kai?" Tyson asks softly, throat a little sore from throwing his voice so low.
Kai drops his hands and stuffs them in his pocket, looking very much like a boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar. The only thing missing was chocolate smeared over his face. Tyson starts laughing at the image now swimming round his head.
Kai looks at him like he's just cracked and stalks across the room. His hands are still buried deep in his pockets, but that does little to suppress the sudden urge Kai has to reach out and strangle Tyson when the other boy doesn't answer him.
His hands are halfway to Tyson's neck before he gets another idea and they stray up to Tyson's face instead.
Tyson's eyes snap open at the feel of Kai's fingers sliding into his hair and pulling him forward. The laughing stops abruptly when Kai's lips touch his own but before his mind can wrap around the fact that Kai is kissing him and he's not doing anything about it, Kai pulls back with a smirk on his face.
"I just dropped in to give you a goodnight kiss," Kai whispers, dropping his hands and stepping back. The smirk is still in place and Kai's almost at the door when Tyson realises what happened.
He doesn't even flinch when Tyson throws a cushion that hits him square in the back of his head.
"I can't believe I fell for that again!" Tyson grumbles loud enough for Kai to hear. It's probably loud enough for everyone to hear, Kai thinks as he sneaks out the front door. He'll have to drop in again tomorrow as well to see if Tyson would fall for it again.
