Hi, everyone!
This is a story I've been working on for a while. It will be a multi-chapter compilation of short stories. I know this will probably be a little out there in regards to the Overwatch universe, but I hope it won't be too terrible. I'll still write normal (if that's what you'd call it) stories; I haven't gone completely mental yet.
Take care,

"Commander Keller! There's a ship inbound!"
"What? Does it have any markings?"
"Yes sir, it appears to be of Earth origins. It has…"
She paused, a surprised gasp caught Keller's attention.
"What is it, Locke?"
"Sir, it has markings from the UN!"
"What? Give me those!"
It was Keller's turn to be incredulous. Taking the old rangefinder from Locke, he peered at the incoming ship.
"Sir, if I may, that ship looks like it will be landing near our old LZ."
"Yeah, and from the looks of it, we have about fifteen minutes until touchdown."
Handing the rangefinder back to Locke, Keller called off into the tiny habitat.
"Jackson, Nomad. I need you two out here and ready to go."
"Whats up boss?"
"Jackson, are those auto-cannons still up?"
"Last I checked, sure they were. Why, what's up?"
"We're going to give our friends a warm welcome."
"You mean we've got visitors?"
"Of course it means we've got visitors. Now shut your mouth, and grab your rifle. We're heading out."
Rallying his small team, Keller lead them across the barren landscape to the auto-cannons.
"We've got a new mission for you, Commander Morrison. This one will be unlike any other you've lead."
"I'm sure it can't be that different. What have you got for me this time?"
"You and a small team of your choice are tasked with scouting settlement locations on Mars."
A long, low whistle escaped his lips. This was truly different than any of the other missions he had.
"Why me? Aren't there some folks at NASA who'd be better suited for this?"
"NASA is focused on research, whereas Overwatch is a variable threat response team."
"I understand that, but how is finding settlement locations, on Mars of all places, a threat?"
"The omnic war left many cities in ruins. Many people lost their lives. Now think about an off-world settlement. It would remain untouched by war and strife, granting the optimal protection from disaster."
"Okay, but why send a team of people? Wouldn't a satellite do just as good?"
"We also need to see the effects of the martian environment on a human. A satellite can't offer us that type of information. Commander, you and your team are the best individuals suited for this type of mission."
"Fine, but I want a full briefing of this on my desk by diner."
"Of course."
Jack began making his way out of the office.
"And Commander…"
He stopped.
"Good luck."
