Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon and this is just a simple fanwork.
Miyako loved Ken with all of her heart and more.
She loved his hair, she loved his eyes, his smile, and the way he walked and talked, the way he always seemed to think about people before himself. She knew she could go on and on.
Maybe it was silly, but as soon as she had seen Ken on television, she had known he was the one. The one she was going to spend the rest of her life with. The one she was going to marry and have children with. The one she was going to die with. Nobody had believed her. No because she was young and naïve.
But even as she fought with him as Chosen Child and him as the evil Digimon Kaiser, she had never fallen out of love with him once and she cried every night because she had just been so sure.
And when he finally came back, she had smiled gently before wanting to cry right along with him while he screamed in anguish. She had felt all his pain and it had taken her all of her strength not to bend down and hug him, whispering it was all okay. But she didn't because that wasn't her job.
Even when she didn't trust him, she knew she still loved him because her heart was trying to beat her brain into defeat by just trusting him. When she tried to e-mail him, she had felt so nervous. When she had slapped him, she had felt bad automatically because how could she have slapped her soul mate?
When he asked her out three years later, she had screamed and hugged him because she had known she was right. That he was the one. Those three years of people telling her she was stupid for even thinking Ken was her true love had all disappeared. A new life was starting and the old one didn't matter.
Even now, with her lying in bed with Ken, his soft breathing the only sound in the room, she knows she still loves him. Loves him with all of her being and more and they will be together forever because they are soul mates.
She told him everything but he didn't tell her everything. He never told her about his nightmares that woke them both up in the middle of the night. He never told her why his eyes would gloss over every once in a while. He never told her anything.
She loved him, she knew that but the real question was:
Did he love her just as much?
And as he smiles in his sleep and wraps an arm around her, somehow comforting her through without knowing it, she moves closer too.
As long as he remains by her side forever, it doesn't matter.
She has enough love for the both of them.
Notes: Being with Ken can not be an easy feat. What with all his lovely angst and all that.
