Disclaimer: I do not own any part of Twilight; that privelige is bestowed upon the great Stephenie Meyer.

The last thing I remembered was Edward's cool lips on my neck and then...

...the burning pain started. I was expecting the pain, so it was not as bad as the first time I felt the fire. I tried my best as to not let Edward see the immense pain I was in; I knew how much it would hurt him. I could handle my pain, but not Edward's.

I could honestly say that I had worse pain. Those months after Edward left were the worst pain I had ever been in, and would ever be in. Nothing could match that. I pushed that unpleasant thought away and tried to think of something to distract me.

My wedding night. That's the perfect distraction as far as I'm concerned. That was the best night of my life. Like Edward had promised, we tried...and succeeded. Letting my thoughts drift to that night, I fell into a deep slumber.

After three days of immense pain, the change was over.

I woke up feeling extremely strange. I looked down at my hand, I could see that it was paler than usual. I sat up and Edward raced to my side. "Bella," I could hear the intense emotion in his voice, "Bella, how do you feel?"

I thought about his question. How do I feel? "Different," I decided. I slid my legs over the edge of the bed and stood up. Edward's arms were slightly outstretched, as if he was ready to catch me in case I fell. But for the first time in my life, I felt incredibly stable on my own two feet. I walked into the adjoining bathroom to look in the mirror.

I couldn't help but gasp at what I saw. I could recognize myself, but barely. I had the same pale skin as Edward; however my eyes were a deep, blood red. Other than that, I was strikingly beautiful. My hair now had an amazing luster, and it had perfect waves cascading down over my shoulders. My face was perfectly shaped with not one trace of a single blemish or imperfection. I couldn't believe that the figure in the mirror was me. Yet somehow I could.

This was another first for me, because for the first time looking in the mirror, I was completely satisfied with what I saw there. Except for the eyes, but I knew those would change with time.

I turned to look at Edward, complete shock written all over my face. He surprised me by laughing. When I gave him a confused look, he stopped.

"I'm sorry," he said, "but you should see the look on your face. You're utterly bewildered. Didn't you remember the...side effects?"

"Of course I remember, but it's still a little shocking. I never believed that I could look so beautiful."

A harsh look flickered in his eyes. "You were always beautiful." I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I didn't want to get into an argument right now, especially not one over something so ridiculous. Who cares about what I looked like before?

"So," I said, "what do we do now?"

The corners of Edward's mouth turned up into my favorite crooked smile. "Well, Mrs. Cullen," I rolled my eyes, he loved to call me that now, "what would you like to do?" I remembered something just then.

"Well, I do believe I have a promise to keep. Where's Emmet? Aren't we supposed to arm wrestle?" We both laughed at the memory.

"Of course," he said, "how could I have forgotten? Let's go downstairs." I flew, at vampire speed, to Edward's side.

"Let's" I repeated. I paused then said, "I'll race ya!" then flew down the stairs.

So, what did y'all think? (Yes I said "y'all" I'm a Texas girl, that's what I do). PLEASE review, it would be much appreciated. Oh! This was a one shot, nothing more will be added to it, unless I get a lot of reviews begging for more!! (lol) ;)
