Written for the Christmas Challenge by Muffin'sback.

Pairing: James and Lily.

Prompt: Snowman.

"FEAR ME, FOR I AM THE GREAT SNOWMAN OF HOGWARTS CASTLE!" screamed a familiar voice from behind Lily Evans.

She turned to see James Potter wearing a top hat and cape- running straight towards her with his arms outstretched.

Lily sidestepped quickly, leaving him to stumble headfirst into a tree, thankfully not the Whomping Willow.

"I always thought I'd fall for you, not fall into a tree next to you," said James sarcastically.

"What's with the hat, Potter? And the cape? And the yelling? You're not even made of snow, if you haven't figured it out yet," said Lily.

James straightened up and brushed the dirt off his robes, looking Lily straight in the eye with mock seriousness.

"How do you know? Maybe I am made of snow," he said to her, arching an eyebrow.

"Cut it out, Potter, I'm trying to be happy- it's only four days until Christmas, and I won't let you ruin it by irritating me," she replied.

James let out an airy laugh, making no effort to move an inch, just casually leaning against the tree.

That is, until a hunk of snow fell off of a tree branch smack onto his raven-colored hair and shoulders.

He swore quietly, pacing around the trunk of the tree and brushing off snow and shivering half to death.

"Are you going to go inside now, as you have successfully frozen yourself?" asked Lily.

James shook his head, crossing his arms over his chest. "I'm made of snow, I don't get cold, Evans. Ever."

"Potter, you're frozen through and completely insane. Come on, just come inside with me."

"But it's warm in there, and I love it out here. The great outdoors, the blistering wind, the-"

Lily interrupted him, "-the frozen boy determined not to go inside the castle to warm himself up."

"On one condition," said James with a small smile, and Lily instantly backed two steps away from him.

"No way am I, or will I ever, kiss you. Besides, you're an icicle in the making!" she exclaimed.

"That's because I'm practically a snowman, and everybody knows that snowmen are cool," James replied.

"And if you go inside, maybe some mad girl will consider you to be hot! Would you just come on?" pleaded Lily.

"Kiss me, kiss the snowman," he urged her, dramatically rubbing his hands together like he was even colder than he really was.

"Fine," she snapped, then leaned in and kissed the boy quickly on the lips before withdrawing from him.

"Potter!" she exclaimed. "You're even more freezing than I had thought! You need to get inside before you get pneumonia!"

"Okay," said James, his eyes twinkling slightly under the mask of cold. "That's cool."
