I was sitting next to Edward on the seat behind his amazing grand piano. He was playing my lullaby with complete love in his eyes. I knew that it was only a matter of days before I would be a Cullen. But right now, in this moment, I didn't care. I was listening intently to the music when it suddenly changed into a tune I thought I knew, but I couldn't place my finger on it.

He looked away from my eyes and onto the sheet music in front of him. I read the title on the paper: Thunder by Boys Like Girls. This was an amazing song. I had heard it before and I told him that I liked it a lot. I looked into his eyes and then took a double take on the sheet music. It was written into two parts; a duet. Oh no.

He started singing his part and his voice was as smooth as honey.

Edward:

Today's a winding road, that's taken me to places that I didn't want to go, whoa.

Crap. My part was next.

Bella:

Today, in the blink of an eye, I'm holding onto something and I do not know why, I try.

I tried to read between the lines.

I tried to look in your eyes.

I want a simple explanation.

When we were done, I was very surprised that I actually did that without any trouble. I don't think he realized how much of a terrible singer I am, which I was glad for. I stretched my neck up to give him a quick kiss on the lips, but he snaked his arms around my waste, so I wrapped my arms around his neck. When I broke away for breath, he kissed my cheek.

"I love you," I whispered against his cold skin.

"I love you, too."
