Germany was very, VERY, irritated. Why in the world were fifty three countries missing? FIFTY THREE! Not to mention that England, the host of the meeting, wasn't there either! Sighing, he turned to America, who was still here, despite the absence of many of his relatives - Germany filed that common fact about all the missing nations away - and asked, "Do you know vere they all are?"
America nodded. "Yep! They're all actually in the building. Want me to show you where?"
"Ja, they have some explaining to do," Germany grumbled. They had no excuse!
He followed America out of the room, the two not noticing that most of the rest of the world was following them. They turned several corners, went down a couple of flights of stairs (Germany wouldn't let America take the elevator, saying that the exercise was good), headed through several intersections of hallways, and a veritable maze of directions later, they found themselves outside a large meeting room. This was when the rest of the world finally caught up to them, no longer bothering to hide the fact that they were following them. Germany pushed open the doors.
Inside the meeting room was a rather orderly setup. There was a large table, shaped like the outline of an ellipse (not unlike the one used for World Meetings), with seats arranged around it. The seats were broken up into regions, and in each chair of each region, there was the nation whose name was on the placard.
Along the right side of the table were the African nations: Botswana, Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, and Zambia.
Next to Africa, and along the side to the middle of the curve, was Asia: Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.
Going up along the left side, starting where Asia ended, was the Pacific Region: Australia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
After that was the Caribbean and the Americas: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and The Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.
The last region, approaching the head of the table, was Europe: Cyprus and Malta. In the head seat itself was England.
"Vas is going on here?!" Germany demanded to know. The fifty three nations inside the room turned as one to look at the invading world. "I'd like to know the reason you are all here instead of the meeting!"
"Well," said England, "blame whatever wanker came up with the bloody idea of scheduling the World Meeting on Commonwealth Day. Sorry chaps, but family comes first." Noticing the blank looks on their faces, he sighed. "You know, the Commonwealth? All the members of which are in this room? The same Commonwealth of which my Queen is currently head? Now shoo, none of you are supposed to be here. At any rate, we'll be leaving now for the ceremonies. Goodbye."
With that statement, the Commonwealth rose to their feet in unison and swept past the crowd of other nations, leaving the building as one.
