Kousei stood on the ledge of the roof. He had pretended to be fine for so long, but ever since Kaori died, all he wanted to do was join her. He knew it was cruel to leave his friends behind, but he couldn't do this anymore.

He still saw Tsubaki, as she went to the school next to his music school. Emi and Takeshi attended the same school as Kousei, and him and Tsubaki visit Watari every so often. It had been a year since the love of his life died, and he had faked moving on so no one would worry about him. He was a burden to them already, and if he let them see his feelings now, he'd be an even bigger one.

His school was four stories tall. He could tell that he would be dead the moment he hit the pavement below. Kousei had been planning for a while, and he picked jumping off the roof as the best method of suicide. He just hoped it wouldn't be that long of a fall.

It was a shame, really. He would have enjoyed this school if it weren't for her. He had entered many competitions in the past year and won first in the majority of them. Takeshi and Emi could hardly be considered rivals: they were very close friends by now. He lived in a single dorm room, and aside from his neighbor, a girl who screamed at random times during the night, his living situation was great.

Everything was fine in his world. Except for the fact that Kaori was no longer in it.

He hoped no one would miss him too much. He knew the pain of losing someone very well by now, and he really hoped that they wouldn't experience the same pain he did. He doubted anyone loved him as much as he loved Kaori anyway. He could never give someone what she gave him.

He took a deep breath and prepared to jump. I'm coming, Kaori.

He heard the door open behind him. He froze.

"What the fuck?!" He heard a feminine voice yell, then before he could blink, he was yanked back and pinned by his shoulders on the ground.

The girl on top of him was breathing heavily. She had long brown hair that currently surrounded his face and dark, murky green eyes that seemed like they were an ocean, unpredictable and dangerous. They bored into his own crystal blue eyes, a mixture of pure fear and something in between sadness and anger.

She shook her head. "No. You are not going to do that."

He could only nod his head and stare right back into her eyes, the sound of their breath the only thing breaking the silence.

I hope this is mediocre. Tell me if you guys want me to continue this. If I do continue, I don't plan on shipping this mystery girl and Kousei, but that may change depending on what you guys think. This is my first story, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Btw, future chapters will definitely be longer than this one
