Hello Readers,
This is the Complete Codex for my Fate Stay Night x Mass Effect Fanfiction, Human Effect. It will contain all the key terms and concepts that might make my readers scratch their heads. This Codex will be constantly updated when new chapters are released.
Events/Eras
Two Day War
The Two Day War referred to the Human Alliance invasion and pacification of the Hanar homeworld, Kahje. This brief, but incredibly bloody and destructive, conflict was called the Two Day War because it lasted no longer than 48 hours for the humans to invade and pacify their enemies; the Kahje Self-Defence Force and the Rakhana Guard. Millions were either injured, killed or displaced from shortest known conflict.
Super AI Rebellion
The Super AI Rebellion was a galactic civil war that nearly brought humanity extinct across the galaxy. Trillions of humans were killed. Entire worlds laid to ruins or even scoured of life. Some worlds even banning the creation and usage of advanced technology as they reverted to a society before the creation of AIs that could range from stone age primitives to the atomic age. The scars created by this war ran so deep in the collective psyche of humans that AIs that once controlled entire cities and warships to entire of Segmentums of Human Space and militaries were outright banned. Their creation illegal and the existence of Super AIs not deemed allowable. Existing Super AIs had to be either downgraded or face destruction.
Unknown Asari Origins
The Unknown Asari Origins is a mystery that has baffled Citadel Space for centuries. There has been no evidence of asari sharing a common ancestry linking the asari to the other life found on Thessia. While the asari claim that Thessia is their homeworld and there being evidence to support this claim, the furthest evidence that could be found only went back several thousand years. Centuries of scientists and historians would try to unravel the Unknown Asari Origins, but to no avail until it was something that only a few scientists and historians would ever endeavor to continue. It would only be with the arrival of humanity to Citadel Space that this mystery would be solved.
Asari were in fact descendants of humans that had been kidnapped by Protheans in an attempt to breed loyal subjects that would infiltrate their enemy, humanity. The ancestors of the asari would attack humanity from within. Do as much damage as they could by creating civil unrest and sabotage, and hopefully even force a civil war, to force humanity to divert manpower and resources to combat internal problems. This Prothean plan could never come to pass as their empire would be forced to fight an alien invader, which the identity is still unknown to this date, and see their species driven to extinction.
Old Night
The Age of Strife, also commonly known as Old Night, is a period of the history following the Super AI Rebellion. While humanity won the war against the Super AI, it came but at great cost. The damage to human interstellar civilisation was catastrophic and shattered much of humanity's power across the galaxy. Many if not all worlds suffered under some of the most powerful weapons that humanity had ever devised. Weapons that could destroy entire planets and stars. Many planets and entire star systems ceased to exist. The destruction was so bad that many human planets fall into total anarchy, which would bring many human worlds all the way back into the stone age or several thousands backwards – scientifically, technological, culturally and socially.
Humanity would survive. Only a few minority of human civilization would survive with mild damages, but it was they still would survive huge losses in terms of scientific and technological knowledge. The only planet to survive entirely unscathed would be the homeworld and cradle of humanity, Earth. The world with such a high concentration of human population, numbering in the trillions, that Alaya's Counter Force was so powerful that it was able to prevent the Super AIs from rebelling before they could do any damage. It was Earth, where humanity came from, that would mark humanity's resurgence.
