"Henry" Danielle said as she gazed into the princes eyes. "Nicole..." he began only to be cut off by Danielle. " Don't" she said in a tone barely above a whisper but stronger the iron doors. "What is wrong?" Henry softly implored as the fronts of his fingers gentle caressed her face. "I must tell you something your highness." Danielle said turning her head away for the inviting touch of his fingers as the glided across her skin. "You can tell me anything." Henry said while grasping her chin and brings her face back to his. Danielle took a deep breath close her eyes and began "First your highness, you must know that this was never my intention, and that in fact my only intention was to save a man's life. Sire I am not the Countess Nicole De Lancret, she was my mother. My name is Danielle De Barbarc and I am but a servant. I apologize Sire for I never meant it to go this far." She took a deep breath as she finished and squeezed her eyes shut with her face point down awaiting a storm of anger she was sure would come.
"Danielle is it?" Henry said in a low chuckle "I was wondering when you would tell me your name thought the servant part is a bit of a surprise but still, Danielle fights you so perfectly." He finished while lifting her head to stair into her eyes. "What do you mean?" Danielle asked. "When I saw you the day before last, I talked again to my mother after a time she recognized the name Countess Nichole De Lancert, but said that I must be mistaken because she had died almost eighteen years ago. She remembered that she had been married but could not think of her husband name and said that he was oft away on business. I assumed you must be her daughter and it would appear that I was right." Henry finished and pulled her in closer then rested his forehead against hers.
"Then why didn'…" "Because I wanted you to trust me enough to tell me yourself." Henry cut Danielle off before she had a chance to begin. "Danielle, there is something I need to as you but I can't now. Do you know the ruins at Amboise?" Henry asked. "Yes" Danielle answered simply. "Will you meet be there later today?" He asked her praying she would say yes. "I shall try Sire." Danielle said shyly. "It's Henry" he admonished, "And I shall wait all day." With that Danielle headed toward the manor and Henry toward the castle, both dreaming of tomorrow.
