Disclaimer: I don't own iCarly. If I did, Freddie would have snogged Sam senseless by now.

This little vision of Freddie and Sam sitting next to each other came to me after a wrote 'Always Second Best'. I tried to keep them in character, but I probably failed. Hah. Well, I hope I got the balance between fluffy and descriptive.

Enjoy! ;D

Beside The Campfire – A Seddie One-shot.

Carly walked out to get more smores to roast, while Freddie walked into the forest clearing to see Sam sitting on a log, roasting several marshmallows squished onto one stick.

She had her hair up in a ponytail, wearing jeans and a button up red plaid shirt. She suddenly cast the stick away and drew her knees up to her chest. Sam Puckett? Waste food? Her brows knitted together in thought and she sighed, her breath like a wisp of smoke cast into the cold night air.

Freddie silently sat next to Sam and glanced at her sideways.

"What's wrong?" he asked quietly. Sam's gaze flicked to him, then she turned her head away and muttered,

"Nothing Benson."

Freddie exhaled a puff of air, slightly frustrated. Sam was stubborn and private person, but he thought of her as one of his closest friend. But more? He hadn't decided on that yet. In the corner of his eyes he saw her turn back to him and ask, "you gonna eat that?" she gestured to the marshmallows on Freddie's stick. He shook his head fondly and handed it to her. She picked them off one by one as Freddie watched discreetly wearing an amused grin.

"You really wanna know?" Sam suddenly said, stopping to glance at Freddie. She looks beautiful tonight.

"Well," Freddie replied, then continued, "if I'm not forcing you."

Sam smiled, but it quickly disappeared. She paused and inspected a marshmallow on Freddie's stick. "It's you."

A frown quickly formed on Freddie's face. And there was a long silence between creating a thick tension.

"How so?" Freddie said cautiously.

"You're making me.." she used frantic hand motions, "Crazy! You... You know that I like you, right?" Her face flushed, but she determinedly looked straight into his brown eyes.

"Yes.. And?" he replied. She looked at him as if he were dense, and then rolled her eyes.

"Well we haven't talked about it, have we? You're getting inside here," she said tapping her index finger against her temple, "and I can't get you out!" She looked really upset and Freddie tried to smooth it out.

"It's hard for me too, you know! I haven't had anyone tell me that they straight out like me.. How am I supposed to react? I hardly know anything about girls!" he said frantically.

Her hard gaze softened and she didn't know how to reply.

"What am I supposed to do? Sit around like a freaking nun until you make up your mind about me? I've liked you for ages Benson, do you know how embarrassing it is?"

"Sam?" Freddie said playfully, a grin working its way into his mouth. "You gonna shut up soon?"

"Nub, don't you even try to make me angrier than I am. How dar-"

One of Freddie's arms snaked around Sam's waist and the other cradled her head. He tilted her head back and kissed her off guard [iLLM kind of kiss.] and she immediately responded. He could taste the marshmallow on her tongue and he felt a thrill run through him. His smell was delicious and intoxicating to her and she clinged onto his neck desperately kissing him.

They broke apart and Freddie said smugly, "does that answer your burning question, Puckett?"

Meanwhile, Carly clicked to stop recording the video and smiled as finally her best friend's had found happiness.

Well. I hope that answered a craving to Seddie, at least.
