Poetry inspired by the 50th Anniversary special, and this line in particular: "Sorry, did you say, "Bad Wolf"!?" Because a girl's allowed to dream, even if she doesn't own BBC or Doctor Who.
"Don't. Blink"
He murmured, over and over,
in to her ear.
"Blink", her mind willed her,
"accept reality".
"Don't blink" he begged her,
"Blink and the moment's gone,
If you blink now, time will heal itself,
this rift will seal itself,
this moment conceal itself,
And we'll be back where we started:
Apart."
"What about you?" she asked her heart,
which had stood by,
the silent observer.
"What do you say?"
"You know what I think," a soft voice answered.
Somewhere in the distance,
an impossibility smiled
a river laughed
and waved time back and forth until
a flower frozen, bloomed anew.
And in that Moment
hope sprang,
and a Bad Wolf smiled back and laughed:
"Oh, you clever girls!"
"Don't blink", he begged her, unaware
of the universe conspiring
And "blink!" her brain screamed
feeling her breaking.
When, suddenly, her heart
the silent observer for so long
started,
smiled,
and whispered "Run!"
And she knew,
and she ran
straight in to his arms.
"Well" he spluttered,
when all was made clear
"and what now?"
his arm firmly around her waist.
She smiled up knowingly
at the winking blinking lights,
at the fizzling wires,
at the round things.
She smiled and looked at him.
"Well… she IS still bigger on the inside"
