Re: Goodbye, And Good Luck
I can't tell you how hard this is for me. Let me say first that I fell in love with you the first time we met. It was your eyes. Young, inexperienced, yearning to learn. I was overjoyed when you told me that you had feelings for me. That night, before Ilos, was, and still is, a very special memory for me. The fact that I was your first made it all the more amazing.
But that's all over now.
I died two years ago. I had no right to expect you to put your life on hold. I had no right to expect that you would always remain alone. I don't know what I expected when I saw you on Illum.
I didn't expect you to be so cold, ruthless. I didn't expect you to be so obsessed with revenge. Did I teach you that? In my life or my death? It was not my intention to do so, and I'm sorry if I did.
You moved on, and now, so have I.
I realize now that the innocent scientist I once knew no longer exists. Please understand that I still consider you a close friend, and all you ever need do is call for me, and I will be there. But a friend is all I can ever be to you now.
I truly hope that you understand I bear you no ill will. We're both just different people now.
May the Goddess lead you to happiness.
Always and Forever Yours,
Commander Shepard
