It was November 5, 2004. The day Light planned to get rid of L. The task force was seated on one huge couch and they were in the middle of playing a game of Monopoly. Rem stood behind Misa frowning at Light. When Light was sure that no one was paying attention, he smiled up at Rem.
It was L's turn and he was about to roll the dice, when his eyes widened. Light grinned. He hadn't thought that Rem had already wrote his name down. But then L turned his head towards the shinigami. Light growled mentally. "Shinigami-san, may I show you some of my hats? I just remembered that I had one that would suit you wonderfully." he said, giving Rem one of his rare smiles. To anyone else, it would have looked like L was just being creepy, but to Light, it was a sign from L that he had something sneaky in mind.
Light knew that he had to stop him. "Hey, L, I enjoy hats, too. Would you mind if I came along?" he asked innocently.
"Yes, I would. Very much. It would ruin your pretty hair, Light-kun." L said reaching out to pet Light's hair. Light began to panick. He didn't want those nasty, sticky finger anywhere NEAR his beautiful locks.
L suddenly dropped his hand and smiled discreetly at Light. "Come along, Shinigami-san." L ordered heading towards the door. Rem sighed and floated after L.
When L and Rem finally came back, L was sporting a brown beret and Rem was wearing a pink and black striped hat.
"You look so pretty, Rem!" Misa gushed, pulling the hat off of the Shinigami's head. L started to walk back over to his spot on the couch when he froze and paled even more than usual. He suddenly collapsed on the floor. As everyone rushed over to him, Light began to smile wickedly. L's hand was slowly reaching towards his hat. After a few moments he finally reached his hat, he pressed down on the lower button. Then his body went limp.
Light's expression then went into panick and he knelt down next to L. "Split up and find Watari!" he yelled, sending everyone running including Rem and Misa around the building. Then he smirked at L again. "You've lost the game L. Light Yagami has won! Kira shall rule the world!" He yelled laughing wildly as his eyes rolled into the back of his head and back out. Then he heard a low chuckle. Light looked around the room and didn't se anyone. Then he turned to L. His eyes widened in horror as the man stood up and scratched his foot.
"That's cheating!" Light sputtered as he backed away from L, still on the floor. "You're dead!"
"No, Light-kun." he said. "I am very much alive."
Suddenly the door bursted open. L then took off is hat and ripped open the button with revealed a small disc. He shuffled over to the computer and put the disc in. Then the video of Light's psycho rant bagan to play. Soichiro quickly quickly approached his son with a grim expression. He extended his hand out and Light latched on to it. Soichiro spun his son around and pulled out a pair of handcuffs. "I am very disappointed in you, son." he said as he locked them on Light's hands. "Never laugh like that for as long as you exist. You'll blemish the Yagami name even more."
Soichiro then escorted Light out of the room and everyone left l sitting in his swirly chair. Watari came into the room and walked over to L."What case do you want to work on now, Lawliet?" he asked.
"I don't know." he said standing up and walking over to the place where everyone had been playing Monopoly. L grabbed Light's piece and moved it to the Jail spot. "Maybe I'll go taunt..visit Light-kun in Jail." he said, smiling.
I might write another chapter for this, but I'm not sure because I'm doing NaNoWriMo and I REALLY shouldn't even be ON FanFiction, but I should be writing my novel. So you shouldn't expect any more chapters until I finish my novel.
