Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon, nor claim to. If I did, it wouldn't have ended! Alas though, it did, so therefore, I'm continuing it unofficially. ;)

"Sailor Moon Genesis" by Evilprozac79

Prologue:

*Crouched down on top of the asteroid Ida, a man lays his head on top of the rock and weeps profusely for hours, then sits back and disappears in a shower of light.*

I arrived back on Earth. Everything looked so different from the first time I had been here. Of course, that had been back before Earthlings even knew how to farm, so that was to be expected. I walked back into my cheap hotel room, that I had managed to charm the owner into letting me use while I was here. Numbly, I turned and picked up the gun that I had managed to get from some muggers that had foolishly attacked me yesterday. I checked to make sure it was still loaded, then brought it up under my stubbled and unwashed chin. Suddenly, there was a bright flash of light in my room.

"That's not a very good idea, you know?" A distantly familiar voice came from behind me, a voice I never expected to hear again.

Wearily, I dropped the gun. "Hello Pluto." I replied, not turning around.

"Millenia in hell, and you still haven't lost your edge, I see." She answered cooly.

"While the same millenia only seemed to have sharpened yours." I sighed deeply. "Pluto, did I ever tell you how sorry I was?"

"Vulcan, don't do this to yourself. I knew the risks when I took the job." She shook her head sadly, long hair whispering quietly.

"I know, but that still doesn't make it right. I was a rash, stupid, arrogant, cocky bastard. God, how could I have been such a fucking idiot?"

She walked over to me and wrapped her arms around me as I start to sob uncontrollably for several minutes. "Shhhh, it's okay, everything's been handled now..."

"Yes, but at what price?" I brokenly sobbed.

She put her hand under my chin and raised my head up until I was facing her. "Vulcan, one thing my experience has taught me is that nobody's perfect. Nobody knows everything. Not you, not me, not even Serenity."

"Pluto, what happened to you? You were so different the last time I saw you! Now... well, you've changed! You've grown up..." I said feeling better, but still puzzled by her behaviour.

She smiled at me, "well, after a few years, people tend to change."

I nodded in understanding. "I suppose so, Pluto. God, I need a drink."

"I don't remember you ever drinking before. Oh, and by the way, it's Meiou Setsuna now. We try to keep a low profile now in order to try to have a normal life in between killing this monster or that one..."

"Setsuna..." I reply, testing it out. "Interesting... So, would you care to join me for a drink?"

She stood up and grinned impishly. "Why not? After all, it's been such a long time since I was treated by an older man..."

"Hey now, watch it with the older comments! I'm only a couple of years older." I answered testily, standing up and putting on my coat.

She smiled again and held out her hand to me. Taking it, we walked to the door and I turned around and locked it.

"You really should get a better place to stay, you know?" She asked rhetorically.

"Hey Plu... I mean, Setsuna, I got a question for you... I was watching that thing called a tv and I saw something that really confused me. Who is this Spock person and how does he have anything to do with me?"

Her laughter tinkled down the hall.

Author's Note:

Yes, I know I originally posted this a very long time ago, but I've since gone through it and cleaned it up a bit, changed a few things, and I'm picking it back up, like a long lost treasure found in the back of the attic and dusted off. So, bear with me, and I hope you enjoy the story. :)
