Her feet hit the ground, for a reason unknown to her she was bare foot. Her feet throbbed with pain. She could see her every breath, she was breathing quiet heavily when her pace quickened. Something was behind her, what it was she couldn't tell. As she looked further into the night she just saw tree after tree. She dodged and ducked every one, wondering when the end would come. But there was no sign of relief to her aching feet. Just as she had lost hope she saw the pale moon peeking through the trees. As she prayed to God she heard the feet behind her quicken in pace. She pushed herself as hard as she could but she knew it wasn't good enough. She heard the voice say her name as it did she felt it's breath, whatever it was it wasn't human. " Kiba" it's voice seemed cold and fierce. As her feet stepped into the light of the moon she felt the cold tough hands touch her frozen arms. Then it was gone.
She sat up in her bed out of breath. "Kiba" her roommate Larissa screamed in her ear. " what'd I miss?" I replied wiping my eyes. " you were screaming again." Larissa said her voice hinted a sense of worry. " oh, I'm sorry" I knew that she stayed up late for schooling, and the dorm rooms didn't create much comfort. " it's fine" she said jumping out of her bed " nobody Needs sleep" she laughed a little but I knew that she needed all the sleep she could get. " after this semester I'll be leaving" I said " I promise." " will you stop that you know I don't mind, I just worry about you!" she replied by the time she finished her sentence she was out of breath from talking so fast without stopping. I looked at the clock 3:00 A.m. " just go back to sleep I'm going to take a shower and get ready for school."
Larissa went back to sleep as I slowly slipped out of the door and into the hall way. with my towel in hand I stepped into the hallway bare foot. the cold hallway reminded me of my dream. I discarded the thought before I even had a chance to finish the thought. our room was at the east side of the hallway and sadly the showers were on the west side. But I was happy to have the chance to think about what my dream meant. I was used to having these nightmares by now. I started having them when I turned eleven after I found out I was adopted, I've never forgotten; I had gone to sleep after my birthday party. I was walking on a dark path in the woods and I guess I'd gotten lost because I had a map and signs were everywhere. when I looked down my feet were bare and I had a pair of jeans and a hoddie. That's when I heard the foot steps and started running to avoid being seen I ran into the forest. I heard the voices whispering my name "Kiba" " kiba wait" If I heard that now I wouldn't be scared I would just sit there and look around but then I was terrified. I woke up screaming my so called parents were rushing into my room wondering what was wrong.
By the time I got to the bathroom I was wide awake, I looked in the mirror my blond hair was slung over my right shoulder showing the birthmark on the left, I'd always seen that birth mark, my adoptive parents wanted to call me angel because my birthmark was a wing. I turned the water on and walked back to the already fogging mirror and wiped of a place to see my face. My pale blue eyes shown in the mirror. I hated my Barbie look, I just always seemed to attract unwanted attention. I pulled my hair up into a bun on the top of my hair. As I stepped into the shower I let the water run down my face. every time I had a nightmare I took a shower to wash away the thoughts and the feel of my aching body.
