What He Deserves
Authors Note: Well, I don't really feel like I gave this idea justice, but oh well. Let me know what you guys think!
It's chilly outside as Sam makes his way to the back of the junk yard. He can see his breath as he stands outside looking up at the moon. He's surrounded by old cars, and the coverage they provide makes him feel a little more at ease about what he's about to do.
He's learned in the past that keeping secrets from Dean is a bad idea, but he's willing to make an exception in this case. He needs to talk to Cas, and he knows Dean wouldn't be okay with it. At least not without he himself being present and leading the conversation.
Sam takes a deep breath before he starts his prayer.
"Dear Castiel, I pray to thee." Sam pauses and opens one eye to look around. "Well, I guess it doesn't matter if you show up as long as you're listening; which you apparently do a lot." Sam says as he glares up at the sky.
"Anyway, I just wanted to talk to you about earlier. Don't think I'm not pissed at you for bringing me back soulless, and then lying about it, because believe me I am. I am really pissed about it Cas. But I wanted to talk to you about Dean." Sam's expression softens at that.
"He's really messed up Cas, and it's your fault." It breaks Sam's heart to have to say it. It breaks his heart that he can't fix it. "I know I'm not one to preach about honesty, especially not when it comes to being honest to Dean, but damn it Cas, you should have told him what was going on! He's always trusted you, and you just spit in his face! When Bobby and I thought there was no way you were still on our side, he believed you. He went against the evidence and he believed you." Sam puts a hand to his face to wipe his brow.
"He doesn't just do that for anyone Cas. He does it because you're special to him. He loves you, and that's not easy for Dean. He doesn't trust just anyone. Hell, he still doesn't fully trusts me like he used to." And honestly that's harder to deal with than anything.
"You messed up Cas, but you still have time to fix it. You can come down here and talk to Dean. You can throw this crazy plan of yours out the window! Screw Crowley! We can figure it out. Me, you, Dean, and Bobby; team freewill, remember? We'll find a way to make things work Cas, but you have to trust us. You have to trust Dean. He's the only person I know who has never let me down, and you know as well as I do that he's never let you down." Sam looks down at the ground, trying to hide the tears that are starting to build up in his eyes.
"He loves you Cas," Sam says before looking up at the sky. "And if you love him back then you'll change your mind about what you're doing. He deserves that Cas. He deserves to have someone who won't let him down. Dean's given everything he has for other people, the least you could do is give up this plan for him. Give him someone he can trust."
Sam sighs. "Thanks Cas." Sam says before he walks back inside the house.
From the junk yard Cas makes himself visible. "I'm sorry Sam."
