Julie looked at me as if I was from outer space or something. "What?" I said irritatingly, when it really got on my nerves. Julie just shook her head and sighed. "You're so weird, Emma" she ran her fingers through her blonde hair. She was acting weird herself; I didn't guess why she'd say something like that to her best friend, that is, me of course.
"Julie, I don't know what you hate about Lucia Cornell. She's so awesome", I looked at the picture of Lucia which was on my hand. Lucia Cornell is a pop singer, an amazing pop singer, not like high-pitched Nick Jonas or like creepy horny Ke$ha. No offence, but its awful having a best friend who's always nagging about my choice of clothes and singers.
"Emma, you know that I hate Lucia Cornell more than anyone in this entire world", Julie opened her locker and gazed at her reflection on the mirror which was inside. I looked down at the picture again and smiled. "You know I hate it when you add mascara to your lashes", I blurted, just as Julie started to apply her new X-treme, extra thick black mascara. She blushed terribly, and shoved the make-up bit in her locker.
"Okay missy", Julie raised up a finger in the air. "Let's make a deal. You stop talking about this crappy Miss Lucia, and I'll stop applying mascara", she said, giving me a sickly sweet smile. I thought for a minute, and then, shook hands with that girl. "Sure", I smiled back. "As long as I don't see you shading your unwanted eyelashes", I imitated Julie pinching her eyelashes. Julie rolled her eyes. "Oh, ha-ha", she said, but I noticed a sly grin.
I darted my eyes around the hall, and noticed my other best friend walking with Annabeth, the prettiest girl in school. I almost tripped when I ran up to her. "Oh, Jessica!" I cried, waving my arms about like a maniac. Jessica looked up at me and smiled. "Hey, Emmy, what's up?" she saw the picture of Lucia in my hands. "Check this out!" I cried, showing her the picture. "Doesn't L…" I stopped short and saw Julie standing beside her locker, her hands on her hips, and she was smiling at me, eyebrows raised.
I just realized I had almost broken the deal. "Lilliput look good?" I ended, giving a weak smile to Jessica, who was staring at me, her face a weird expression. "Yeah", Annabeth interrupted, taking Jessica's arm and dragging it away. "Come on Jess, let's go somewhere less crowdy", she smirked at me. I gazed down shyly, thinking if I could take the deal or not.
