CRIPPLER

They had called him the Crippler. He was one of the best mat technical wrestlers who had ever lived. Trained with the legendary Hart family. And loyal friend too many. But something had gone wrong with him. His mind had stopped functioning normal. Then he did the unspeakable. Everyone asked why? But no one forgave. Not her family or his company. Something went terribly wrong in that house in the suburbs of Atlanta that weekend. And the lives that were lost still echo in sadness today. It was a senseless tragedy. And was most likely an avoidable one.

Mental illness can come in many forms, and from many things. An imbalance of chemicals in the brain for instance. Or steroid abuse. And yes, massive head trauma. Combine all three, and well you get the picture.

The company WWE turned against him once the news broke. You will find limited archived material on him. This man who devoted his life to your entertainment. You will never find him in there illustrious hall of fame. A place he was destined to be. Nor will the commentators mention him when a flying head-butt or a modified cross face is used. But true wrestling fans will never forget the man who graced us with these moves. Who perfected them. And who gave his all inside that damn squared circle.

The lord forgives, he asks us to do the same. So why is it so hard to do? Embrace it.

Acknowledge it

For those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it!

And Chris Benoit, you will never be forgotten by the fan in Georgia not ashamed to say your name!
