Stolen Love

Kowalski awoke one morning to see Private and Rico missing from their bunks. He went to Skipper, who was sitting at the table, with a note in his hand.
"Where are Private and Rico?" Kowalski asked. Skipper looked up with a glare as he handed Kowalski the note.
Dear penguins,
I have taken your friends. You must travel across the country, to California to get them back. But I am only giving you a week to do this.
Signed, Dr. Blowhole
Kowalski's eyes went wide.
"What? And you've just been sitting here?" he snapped. Skipper looked up in shock.
"I mean, he's giving us A WEEK!" Kowalski screeched. He grabbed Skipper's flipper and dragged him up the ladder.
"We have got to do something!" he cried. He started to babble uncontrollably, until Skipper slapped him across the face.
"Calm down soldier! Let's just get to California!" Skipper barked. This time, Skipper grabbed Kowalski's flipper and dragged him out of the zoo.
They both tried to ignore the spark when their flippers touched.
Okay, I know it's short. But it's a prologue! It's supposed to be short!
