Author's note: Welcome to my first Supernatural fanfic ever! I know it's short, just a scene that popped into my head and asked to be written. It may turn into a series...not sure yet.

Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural...a certain hunter would be shirtless all the time if I did.;)

5 year old Hunter Winchester clutched Bartholomew, her stuffed zebra, to her chest as her dad tucked her into bed.

After seeing that his little girl was safely ensconced in her purple plaid blanket he affectionately proclaimed her to be "Snug as a bug in a rug!".

"Daddy..." she giggled, "...I'm not a bug!"

"Oh, here I was thinkin' you were my little ladybug. Must have confused you with another little girl."

"I am your little ladybug daddy, it's not the same thing."

"It's not?"

"No. Ladybugs are ladies." She explained, as if it was a well known fact..

"Oh, my mistake." He smiled.

He lowered himself onto the edge of her bed and brushed her dark blond bangs out of her face with a gentle hand, exposing her beautiful green eyes. So much like his own.

"Did you have fun with Grandpa Bobby today?"

"Yeah! He taught me how to fix a car!" Hunter exclaimed excitedly. She sat up causing Bart the Zebra to fall into her lap.

"Oh yeah, what kind of car?" He eased her back down and re-arranged Bart in her arms

"Uhm...he called it a Chev...uh..." She tapped her little chin in thought "...a Chevelle! An old Chevelle. It's blue and ugly, not as pretty as the 'pala."

"Nothin's as pretty as her...'cept you." He winked.

Hunter blushed, a shy smile decorating her face. "Oh Daddy."

He lent down and kissed the tip of her freckled nose. She scrunched up said freckled nose and he smiled affectionately at her as he fixed her wayward blankets.

"Did you and Grandpa Bobby get the ...ugly blue...Chevelle running again?"

"Uh-huh. And when he was putting his tools away he dropped a big wrench on his foot and said some bad words." Hunter tried and failed to hide a chuckle behind her hand.

"Did he now?"

"Uh-huh. He said the 'D' word and the..."A huge yawn escaped her mouth "...'H' word."

"Alright, it's time for someone to go to sleep."

He moved to get up from the bed only to be stopped by her hand on his arm.

"Stay with me! At least 'till I fall asleep."

He sighed, "Okay baby. Scooch over."

Hunter did as she was asked, taking Bartholomew with her and watched as her dad kicked his boots off, swung his legs up onto the bed and turned onto his side to face her.

"'night daddy." Hunter rasped as she situated her self so that she faced her dad, her arms once again around the stuffed zebra.

"Goodnight ladybug." He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and smiled warmly at her.

Dean started humming Hey Jude and watched his daughter fight the pull of sleep to sing along, the lyrics as familiar to her as her own name.

He continued to hum long after she'd fallen asleep...

... and prayed her dreams were filled with lollipops and candy canes.
