"So, are you coming?"

"Depends on that pile of paperwork over there." Kate pointed to her desk, while taking down the photos from the murder board.

"Okay, but just so you know, if you're not going, I won't." She finally turned to him,

"Why not?"

He simply shrugged, "It won't be fun."

"Oh come on, don't let a murder case get in the night of your fun, Castle. After all, I'm the one that deals with the paperwork, not you." She failed to stop the corners of her mouth from smiling.

"Yes, but come on.. I've been told that it's not a party without you." And with that, Richard Castle slowly made his way to the elevator.

Kate looked at her desk and the pile of paperwork she had to do. But then she thought about Karaoke night at the Old Haunt. All her friends were going and she wasn't. They're celebrating the case they just closed and she decided to stay and deal with the paperwork. Maybe, she should just push it off for tomorrow. But then, what would the Captain say? Maybe. Maybe not.

"Castle! About damn time. Where's Beckett?"
The writer was greeted by Detective Esposito, already holding a beer bottle.

"Apparently, she's got paperwork to do." Castle hung up his coat and made his way to his booth where Ryan and Lanie were already sitting in. "Jenny! Good to see you." Castle didn't notice the petite, little blonde sitting way back in the booth.

"What, Rick? No date?" Jenny had been a wonderful addition to the team and in no time, she was already caught up with the 'partnership' of Castle and Beckett. Ever since her wedding, Jenny couldn't stop but push the two together.

"Nope, not tonight." He replied.

"Hmmm, that's what you think." Ryan pointed his beer bottle towards the entrance and as soon as Rick heard the voice that greeted the bartender, he spun around so quickly, he almost tripped.

"Well, well, well.. look who decided to show up," Lanie let out a side comment.

"Yeah, well. I was told it's not a party without me." Kate replied back but she only had eyes for Castle. She gave him that glorious smile of hers and he pulled up two chairs.

The Old Haunt was starting to get crowded. There were signs every where promoting a half price discount on drinks and free karaoke night.

Yup, Kate made the right decision.

Nope, this night is not over! Just wait till this group o friends get a lil alcohol in their system. Yes, this is short... It's what you call.. an 'introduction'. Ha!
