AN: Not my characters, I just play with them. Kind of Sora/Kairi, Roxas/Naminé. Prompt 82 - "Can you hear me?"
"Roxas? Roxas, are you there?"
"Naminé? Can you hear me?"
"Roxas, it is you."
The only time they could talk like this, without any interference, was at night, when both Sora and Kairi were sleeping. Sharing a physical form with their somebodies had its benefits - they no longer felt as though something was constantly missing, like a heart - but it also had its downsides. This was one. The Nobodies, Roxas and Naminé, had taken to resting during the day, while Sora and Kairi went about their business, and conversing late at night.
It was lucky, or perhaps inevitable, that Sora and Kairi would end up together, the hero and the princess. Regardless of how it happened, it suited all four of them.
Lying in the bed, arms wrapped around each other's bodies, Roxas and Naminé could almost believe that they had hearts, that they were entire beings, that they weren't just fragments left over when Heartless had been created.
Though no-one was there to see it, a definite change occurred in the physical bodies when the Nobodies conversed. Brown and red hair changed, became lighter. Kairi's suntanned skin grew paler, Sora's eyes became filled with some unspoken pain. Roxas and Naminé's physical forms, or what had been until they rejoined with the other halves of their souls.
It could only last until either Kairi or Sora began to wake, when the Nobodies would retreat again. The time they could spend together was so limited, so precious, they savoured every moment.
