He had been staring out of the window the entire car ride. It seemed like a better thing to do than try to talk to anyone else in the car. They had been driving for nearly half of an hour when Dudley first saw them. He had been distracted from his thoughts about leaving his home when he saw bright flashing lights in the sky. There were orange streaks and blue bolts. Beams of purple and a stream of pink. He saw a brilliantly bold red light dart across the sky. There were several flashes of the most vibrant green he'd ever seen. An ominous green color. One that warned of danger.
It seemed so strange to him that as he was being forced to leave his home for his own protection, to keep himself out of danger, people were celebrating. He was leaving behind everything he had ever known and these people were shooting fireworks. They were completely unaware of the danger they were in.
It was just that moment when a near blinding golden light flashed in the sky. It was beautiful and he couldn't help but stare in amazement. Then there was another green flash and for some reason, he couldn't help but be reminded of his cousin. He wondered if he would ever see him again. He wondered if Harry was enjoying the fireworks.
