The room was absolutely sweltering.
Quinn Fabray groaned quietly and rubbed the back of her hand across her aching forehead. She tapped her fingers impatiently on the desk, looking up at the whiteboard. All she saw was a whole bunch of triangles and letters that she wasn't even going to attempt to make coherent sense of.
"Hey, what's the answer for number three?" Rachel whispered and poked Santana in the arm with her pencil.
"...No idea." She sighed and thanked the lord that this was the last class on this godforsaken Friday.
"Damn it." Santana cursed.
Quinn stared at the slowly moving second hand on the clock above the door. She couldn't wait to get home and rest up.
She rested her arm on the windowsill and leaned against it, thankful for a seat beside the window.
Quinn heard a faint tap on the window.
She looked around. There was nothing out of the ordinary to be seen.
She went back to resting her head.
Then again, another tap.
Quinn scowled and looked up again.
This time, she saw him - Joe.
He'd been her's for just over a year now, but just seeing his flawless face was like looking at him for the first time. One look could always bring Quinn up from her lowest point.
Joe was holding up big white signs. Quinn gave him a puzzled look followed by a silent giggle, making sure her teacher didn't catch her.
He flashed her one of his gorgeous signature smiles, which seemed to be reflected upon her face.
He picks up the first sign, which read: "I want..."
She stared at Joe, trying to comprehend what on earth he was doing.
He dropped the first sign, and held up the next one which read: "You to know" followed by the next: "that no matter..." The signs kept changing until it reads: "I want you to know that no matter how you're feeling, I'll never leave your side until I see you smiling at me. I'll stand by you always and love you unconditionally."
Quinn giggled into her hands, finding it difficult to realise a boy like Joe would do such an amazing thing for her.
She looked back up at him and saw him fumbling with all the signs and dropping them everywhere which made her giggle even more.
After shuffling around for the last sign, Joe blushed a bright red and held it up to her. She read the words: "I love you!"
Quinn felt completely warmed.
After school she rushed quickly out the door and down the hall to meet him. She raced outside and jumped into his arms, and he held her tighter than ever.
She looked up into his shimmering eyes, and their eyes locked in the unforgettable moment.
Quinn began to say, "I love you t-" but Joe cut her off with a kiss.
She felt like nothing imaginable could be better than this moment. He grabbed her hand and walked her slowly home.
Being this close to Joe was like nothing else.
