A\N: Pretend that Percy and Annabeth never fell into tartarus

Piper paced back and forth in her cabin. She was trying to think of what to get Jason for his birthday. It had to be something special since it was his first birthday since they had been together.

There was someone knocking on her door. Piper stopped pacing and walked over to see who it was. She opened the door.

"Hey Annabeth." Piper said.

"Hi Piper," Annabeth replied, "I can hear you pacing from my cabin. Do you need help with anything?"

Piper ushered Annabeth in, and Annabeth sat down on Piper's bed.

"I'm trying to think of what to get Jason for his birthday." Piper said, sitting down beside Annabeth

"I thought so." Annabeth said

"I don't want to get something that's cliché, or some meaningless item. I want to find something special since this is his first birthday since we've been together." Piper confessed to Annabeth

"I know exactly what you mean." Annabeth said. She started trying to come up with ideas.

Piper thought for a minute.

"What did you get Percy on his birthday." She asked

"Oh," Annabeth blushed, "I baked him a blue birthday cake, I gave him a picture I found of us from our first quest, then we spent some time in his cabin. I don't that will help you much."

"Not really." Piper said

Annabeth jumped up,

"I have an idea." She said, "you know how the first time you and Jason were actually together was at the Grand Canyon."

"Yea."

"You could get him some souvenir from there. Make sure you tell him that it was because you guys met there, because boys tend to forget that kind of thing." Annabeth said

Piper thought about it,

"That actually is a really good idea." Piper said, "Jason will love that."

"I knew it would be a good idea." Annabeth said

"Wait," piper said, "how am I going to get to the Grand Canyon?"

"Ask Hazel if you can borrow Arion, then get Leo to land the boat, and you can go to the Grand Canyon." Annabeth said it like it was the most obvious thing to do.

"Would you mind coming with me?" Piper asked

"Of course not." Annabeth said.

They had followed Annabeth's plan and had gone to the Grand Canyon. They had gotten a photo frame, which Piper put a picture of them in. The whole entire trip had taken them four hours.

Now Piper and Jason were sitting on the couch in the dining area of the boat. They had had a small birthday party with everyone on the ship, but they had all left to do various tasks, leaving Piper and Jason alone.

"I got you something." Piper said, handing Jason a bag

Jason opened the present.

"I got the frame at the Grand Canyon, since that's where we met." Piper said

"I love it."Jason said

He leaned in and kissed her.

To this day, Jason claims that it is the most thoughtful guest he has ever gotten.
