Hegwig's long journey.

It was a sunny afternoon in late September. Harry and his two best friends were sitting under a nice willow tree next to the lake surrounding Hogwarts. Harry looked up and saw something white flying straight toward them and it wasn't slowing down. "Harry?" said Hermione "Is that your owl Hedwig?" Hedwig came crashing into the lake.

"HEDWIG!!!!!" yelled Harry. Harry dove into the lake to rescue him and came out moments later holding her. "Here. Take her" said Harry. Ron held out his hands and Harry placed her gently into his hands. "She looks like she's been frozen." Said Hermione.

"We'd better take her to Hagrid" suggested Harry. "He'll know what to do."

"Ohh" said Hagrid "It looks like he's been poisoned. "What!!" yelled Harry. "She's been poisoned? "Yes" responded Hagrid. "It's an old artic virus that she caught. Hey what's this?" There was a letter tied to his led that he didn't notice before. Harry opened it up and read it aloud.

Your owl will recuperate in 1 hour. After that she will only have a week to live. She will not understand this but I must warn you: If she flies within 10 feet of the other owls they will catch the virus too. You know who I am.

"Voldemort" said Harry "I'm sure it's him"
