Drabble...Thief of Time...
Names have meaning, and even though LeJean is consistently crazy through the entire book, she's an entirely new sort of crazy when she teams up with Susan. They play off each other well. And no one really uses their companion's name so much.
So this came from that.
Pairing: A strange sort of perhaps onesided, perhaps not, depending, SusanxLeJean or LeJeanxSusan. Depending on whether you believe Susan's defensive thoughts or not. grins
Discworld, Susan and LeJean belong to Terry Pratchett

"Susan.."
"No.
Not Susan. Miss Susan."
Susan snapped, irritated.
I know what you're doing. You're trying to help me stay here, to stay in motion. Reasserting my name, giving it the power to carry me. I don't need that. I don't need your help. I can do it on my own. Are you reaffirming that I'm here, that you're not alone? Well, you still are. I'm here, but I'm not going to be what you want me to be.
Lady LeJean's sad, lost expression made something in Susan twist. She forcibly beat down the feeling of guilt.
I'm not going to give you yours. If I can do it, so can you. This is all their fault, and you're one of them.
I'm not going to do it. I'm Miss Susan...Miss Susan knows things. Miss Susan can cope. She can look at all of this and work her way through it. Miss Susan has power.
Susan...Susan is faulty. Susan is weak. She's apt to go with her emotions, rather than knowledge. Susan has no influence here. And you know that. You know that. Are you trying to make me weak, trying to make me more human? You want me to be so much more different from you?
Miss Susan has power. She has calm ability. Susan is...Susan is emotional. Easily irritated. And capable of mixing up the feelings of guilt and some odd companionship into something more. But you know that, just as you know the power of your name, everyone's name. You know Susan has faults. Why would you want that? Miss Susan can use you, and bid farewell. Susan...Susan could twist all these irritating emotions into something more. Susan could...fall for you.
Susan could fall for you, and drag the whole world with her. Don't you dare call for her. Susan could ...love you.
"Miss Susan." LeJean amended, the puppy that, once kicked, was now crawling back with a new trick to it's master, hoping for praise and acceptance again.
Well, that's not the way it was going to go.
Susan nodded once, briefly, and led the way down the passage.
