Disclaimer: Don't own, wish I did

AN: Well I have been extremely lazy/busy as of late and so here is the next of my HSM fics, my Troypay. Not my best... but oh well.

Sharpay had walked the tree lined streets of her neighbourhood millions of times before. But this time it was different. It was eerily quiet and it was cold. She shook her head at her own stupidity for not putting on a coat before leaving the house and wrapped her arms around her torso. She glanced around herself and shivered. Was it always this quiet? She never noticed before because she was always with Ryan. She smiled at the thought of her twin brother, then frowned slightly at thought of his leg being in a plaster cast. I told him not to do jazz squares. She thought as she laughed lightly. He was stuck at home for a week so she was walking to school alone. Her long blonde hair blew across her face as her heels hit the pavement. It normally took her 30 minutes to walk to school in the morning, but today she could tell she was walking faster than usual. The clicking of her heels made their own music as she began humming the first song that came into her head, the new Fall Out Boy track that had been on the radio that morning when she was eating breakfast.

As a car drove past her and down the street, she wrapped her arms around herself a little tighter and walked a little faster as she neared East High. She heard footsteps coming up behind her, which sent a shiver down her spine. She picked up her pace, any faster and she'd be running. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Sharpay knew she was worrying over nothing. She wasn't the only student who walked to school, but it was something about that morning that made her feel vulnerable and slightly scared. Her phone started ringing, which made her jump 3 feet in the air. She laughed at herself before pulling her rhinestone covered sidekick from her designer purse. She checked caller ID. It was Ryan. After talking with her brother, she felt much more relaxed and started to strut down the street like she usually did. She was no more than 4 feet from the school grounds when she felt someone wrap their arms around her. She jumped before recognising the familiar warmth. Her smile grew as she turned in the arms encircling her.

"Hey girlfriend." Troy said smiling.

"Hey boyfriend." Sharpay replied before kissing him. They walked the rest of the journey hand in hand and all Sharpay could think about was how silly she had been. She knew as long as she had Troy, she would always be safe.
