I do not own it.

I watch – One shot

I watch as he buttons his shirt.

I watch as he puts on his boots.

He watches me as I put my hair up so it isn't in my face.

He watched me as I slip on my flip flops.

I watch him as he closes the door and looks around taking it all in, since he won't be home for awhile.

He watches me as I climb in the passenger seat of our silver Volvo.

I watch him as he drives us to the port so he may join his fellow men and get on the ship that will take him from me for months at a time.

We do not speak as there are no words to be spoken. We watch each other placing everything into our memories. The way his green eyes shine, and the way I blush when he smiles crookedly at me.

I watch as our hands are clasped together and our feet walk us to where he has to leave me.

We kiss and look into each others eyes. My eyes say come back to me, and his eyes say I will do my best.

I kiss his dog tags and he kisses my wedding rings.

He leans his head down so our foreheads are touching.

Finally I speak. "Edward, I love you and please come home to me."

"Bella, I love you with all that I am please stay safe."

I watch as he gets on his knees and places his hands on my stomach. He holds me and speaks in a whisper to our child that I just found out that I am carrying.

He stands and kisses me one last time, as it is time to board the ship.

"Please stay safe Corporal Cullen. You have my heart. Make it sure it keeps beating."

"I will Mrs. Cullen as you make sure mine is beating in time with yours."

With that I watch him walk away.

I watch until I can't see him. I watch as he appears on deck and blows me a kiss.

I still watch as the ship leaves the harbor, as I know he will keep watching me as he leaves.

I watch until I no longer see the ship and turn to walk back to our car.

Once I get home I will watch for emails, and phone calls. I will watch for letters and pictures. Just as I know that he watches for the same from me.

As the wife of a Marine I will watch and wait for my soldier to come home. It will not be easy, but I will do what I need to do.

For he has my heart and I his.
