A/N: This is my first fanfiction so I really don't know how it will be, also I have to say that I am Italian so I may not have a good English knowledge.

Talking about this fanfic, this will be a Final Fantasy XII story where I would like to rewrite the plot (cutscenes and dialogues) from Vaan or Ashe point of view. It won't only be a novelization of the story as it will be focused on Vaan/Ashe pairing, because of it I have to add a lot of new dialogues and relationships between characters.

Chapter 1

She was the most prideful person in the known lands, he was the most carefree.

No one could imagine that they will ended up fighting by the same side, for the same thirst of revenge. But maybe they were just waiting for someone to replace that thirst.

Vaan was tired as he was running through Garamsythe waterway, his day had been so full of misadventures that he just wanted to return home. He needed to make his commission before the parade, just to put much more effort in trying to sneak one into the palace. After that, he also just found himself in the middle of a carnage, just for being saved by a skypirate whose only interest was Vaan's stolen treasure.

Even before the boy and his two carers, Fran and Balthier, could hear the voices, they saw multiple figures fighting just above them. A girl, or maybe a woman, was fighting with several imperial soldiers, she seemed breathless and in difficulty. Vaan didn't hesitate one second, he throw himself just under her and yelled: "Jump down, hurry up"

The woman, that previously didn't notice them, got a quick look at the boy, before jumping and landing right onto Vaan's arms.

Vaan remained breathless in the moment he could look better at the young woman, she was stunning, probably not much older then him, with short light-brown hair and a nearly perfect skin. She recovered quick in her foot, but he was fast to present himself.

"I am Vaan, by the way."

She looked to him a bit confused before answering with a smile: "I am Amalia."

"Nice to meet you, Amalia. This are Balthier and F-"

He got stopped by a light in his own hand, the stone he had just stolen started to shine bright.

"Oh well!" Balthier said.

"I told you it's mine." answered Vaan holding the stone tighter.

"Did you steal that?" asked the new arrival with a strange expression

Vaan confirmed fast, but Amalia seemed not pleased by the answer and started to walk over the company.

Why is she so upset? What does it mean to her if I stole it or not, it is neither her palace. thought Vaan.

He didn't know nothing by this time, and he could not expect what that moment will drag him trough.
