Age of Capricorn
The Age of Capricorn is all about building or rebuilding structure and establishing or re-establishing order – a natural order, personal and collective.
We in this world view Capricorn as the sign of 'friendship and love'. During this new age in Capricorn cycle, friendship and love will play an important part in our inner healing, health and personal development. We believe there is a focused energy during this Capricorn cycle and that only friendship and love can be accessed and manifested in each of our lives to the degree we attend to it.
Every mage has a vast, distant, eclectic cultural human or creature heritage and we may tap into the flow of energy through our ancient ancestors who will support and guide our movement toward authenticity, and bringing balance to the Earth.
We, as souls through time, have been all races, all sexual orientations, all gender designations, all social strata. We have the stored, collective experiences within us – an 'akashic record' if you will, of amazing potential into which we can feel, sense and act upon. It is not merely a physical/genetic ancestral lineage we belong to, nor to the mostly unknowable incarnations we have lived, but a huge multi-faceted, across-time-and-space heritage with which we are connected. We are all One. We all possess the ONE MAGIC in us, whether we choose to believe it or not.
Sakura opened her eyes, green orbs met the full moon moon in the sky, it's light piercing the glass protecting her. She took her first breath in many years as she awoke from her frozen state. She glanced around at the pod she was inside of. Cold metal surrounded her and the urge to get out was imminent. She tried her arms first but could only move a finger. Her feet were next and she managed to wiggle a toe. After several more attempts at trying to move her limbs, she tried summoning chakra next to accelerate her recovery rate only to scream out in pain as it backfired on her. She closed her eyes as tremors went through her body.
"What's going on?" Sakura thought, as she try to shake the pain. She closed her eyes, focusing on the power inside her. She probed the energy inside her with caution. "This is different. Completely different to chakra." She would know, since she was a master at chakra manipulation. She opened her eyes once more, looking at her reflection in glass in front of her, and she noted her seal was gone.
"Kami...how many years was I in this pod?" Sakura questioned herself as she shook her head from side to side to shift her extremely long bangs out of her face. Sakura resigned herself to staying in the pod until she regained mobility. It wasn't long until she fell asleep. When she awoke it was night time once again. The moon shinning down upon her. Praying to whatever god that was out there she tried once more to move her limbs and found she could. It was strange because without her chakra how could regain mobility so fast. The energy inside push along the process?
She tentatively raised her hand and pulled the leaver that sealed her inside the pod. The hissing sound of steam leaving the pod was loud as the door clicked open. The door slowly opened and the heat immediately assaulted her. The burning of wood and flesh against the sterile and cold air of the pod. She climbed out the pod and into a circle clearing and looked around with wide eyes. The forest around her was burning. A loud roar echoed all around her, shooting fear into her. Sakura fell to her knees, shaking as if she dove into freezing water. The sound of that roar was familiar. She knew that sound from her dreams many years ago, the very sound that ended the world before her eyes. Trusting her instincts and her fear, she bolted into the forest barefooted with only a patient's gown covering her body. She ran through the darkened forest as the roars got closer. She looked for a place to hide but found none.
The forest, it was as black as coal, the canopy of the trees made it even darker. No light penetrated, even from the stars or the moon. All around her she could hear the noises that seemed to be magnified by the thousands. Croaking and chirping frogs, deep ones and the kinds that make that whirring whizzing sound that got louder. They sounded panicked as if they were trying to escape the fire and horrible sound like her. Creatures she had never seen before, many different kinds, from all sides seem to be running along with her trying to escape, she heard them everywhere around her. She could even hear a howling somewhere in the distance.
Soon a cry broke her out of her desperation to escape. Just to her left a grey small kitten with wings seemed to be trapped underneath a branch with the fire closing in. Something drew her to this helpless kitten. Fear, still driving her, she dashed towards the kitten as the fire lick at her bare skin. She kicked the branch off the kitten and pulled him into her arms.
"Don't worry. I got you." Sakura whispered, hugging the kitten close to her breasts. Trusting her instincts once more, Sakura jumped to the left, dodging a fiery branch that landed where she was standing. She took off once more, with the baby kitten close to her.
"I'm scared!" the kitten cried out, hugging Sakura.
"I'm scared too but fear can drive a person to do incredible things." Sakura replied, jumping over a fallen tree as the fire devoured the forest and the loud roar echo in the distance. Sakura skidded to a stop at the edge of a cliff. She looked down and spotted a lake. Looking out further in the distance she could see a village. She looked back and could see the fire coming towards their location. She looked down once more. She was going to have to jump.
"Hey little guy. I'm going to need you to hold your breath. We're going to jump." Sakura said, looking down at the grey kitten in her arms. He looked up with big brown eyes and nodded.
"Ready?" Sakura said, bracing herself. When she felt him nod his head, she took a few steps back and run towards the edge.
"NOW!"
She jumped off the cliff, her long pink locks trailing behind her. They hit the water with a loud splash and it was if a thousand needles dug into her skin. The water was freezing and the medic inside knew she needed to get out fast or catch hypothermia. She swam back up, her legs and arms aching form the cold, with the kitten in her arms. She broke the surface of the water, taking a deep breath along with the kitten.
"I hate water!" he cried out.
"I'm sorry little guy." Sakura hissed, shivering from the water. "We'll have to bare with it for now. There's a village nearby." She grabbed his tiny body and placed him on her head. "Hold on tightly." He sniffed, tears in his eyes as he nodded his head.
Sakura swam to the shore and climbed out the water. Her body shivered violently as she crawled across the dirt. Taking a few breaths she slowly got up and walked the path that lead to the village. The wind blew against her body fiercely and the medic in her knew that if she didn't find warmth soon she would pass out and possibly die. Without chakra she won't be able to warm herself like she could years ago when she went on missions.
She could feel the kitten's body shivering on her head and she delicately removed him from atop her head and place him inside her patients gown, between her breasts to keep him warm. His shivering ceased momentarily and she made her way towards the village.
"You never told me your name." Sakura said, without looking down at the kitten inside her gown.
"I don't have one..." he said in a soft voice. "I hatched a few hours ago.."
"Hatched?" Sakura thought, her mind contemplating this new world. Sakura was sure she'll have culture shock very soon.
"Then how about I gave you one. Hmm?" Sakura replied, smiling down at him. He looked up with big brown eyes.
"Really?" He questioned, his eyes full of hope and life.
"Yes." Sakura replied, before tapping her chin with a finger. "How about Afi?"
"Afi? What does it mean?" he asked, his small cute voice filled with wonder.
"It means fire. You were born amongst the flames and survived. You conquered fire." Sakura said, smiling brightly at the kitten.
"Woah...thank you so much...umm." Afi replied, his eyes questioning.
"Sakura." she simply replied.
"Thank you so much, Sakura." Afi replied with a sniff, he wiped his eyes smiled up at her. Sakura nodded her head at the crying kitten.
They walked into the village slowly. The doors and windows to the houses were closed tightly. The wind felt like needles against her skin and she fought the cold that seeped into her bones. Afi was sleeping soundly against her but she could still feel his tremors from the cold. She needed to warm up and fast.
She went to each door knocking. "Please….help me!" Sakura yelled, pounding on the fifth house she reached. Her hands felt numb from the cold and the pounding. She was desperate. She raised her fist to pound on the door once more and the door was yanked opened.
An old woman stood there with her hands on her hips, glaring at her. "Come inside. I can't stand your infernal pounding any more!"
Sakura wasted know time and pushed pass the woman and into the warmth of the house. Sakura rushed towards the fireplace, dropping to her knees and basked in the warmth that it gave off. She could feel Afi cuddle more into her and she placed him on the carpet near the fire.
"Now why in heavens name are you dressed like that and you're soaking wet too?" the old woman asked, looking at Sakura and the kitten in her hands. "Don't you know it's dangerous outside?!"
Sakura knew she couldn't possibly tell this woman the truth of her origins. "I woke up in the forest and found it burning. There was something out there but all I could do was run for my life. I found this little guy here,"she said, pointing at Afi, "and we jumped into the lake. Then we arrived here seeking shelter." She watched the old woman for any reaction and only found fear.
"What you heard was a dragon my child..." the old woman whispered. "The black dragon of legend that very few know about or lived to tell the tale."
"A dragon?" Sakura asked, remembering how the shinobi world came to an end.
"Yes." the old woman said, not bother to elaborate. "Since you have nowhere to go I'll let you stay here for a few days. After that you have to leave."
"Thank you ma'am." Sakura quickly said, bowing her head before looking back at her. "Can you tell me the current year, please?"
"X782, why?"
"X782?" Sakura thought, her mind going into shock. That number didn't mean much to her as it didn't even give her a clue of how long she was in the pod. It could be any amount of years. 2000? 3000? 4000? It was too much for her mind to handle.
"Are you ok?" the old woman said, touching Sakura's forehead. "Oh my, you're burning up!"
"I-I..." Sakura managed to say before she passed out.

.
.
She stood in a temple that was in ruins. Vines etched into the walls, broke statues and statues of creatures she'd never seen before. The sun shined through the giant hole in the ceiling basking the temple in a holy glow. The scene changed and she was in a library filled with books that touched the ceiling.
"Come thy child." a voice said from behind her.
Sakura turned around and came face to face with an entity made up of lightness and darkness. "Who are you?" she asked.
"You must take the mark for it is your ancestral right child of Aquarius." the entity said.
"Child of Aquarius?" Sakura questioned.
"It is the Age of Capricorn now child of Aquarius. Your age has passed and you are it's only survivor. You must adapt and evolve like the creatures of the world. Fine this temple, pass the trial and take mark. It is your duty as the child of Aquarius."
"What do you mean? What temple and what mark?"
"Ask the temple keeper and she will take you there. You must awaken now child of Aquarius. I await your arrival."
"Wait I -" Sakura began to say but felt a tapping on her forehead.
"Master."
"MASTER!"
Sakura opened her eyes, taking a deep breath as brown met green. "Good morning Master." Afi said politely.
"Master?"
"Miss Elise said that even though I'm cat I must have manners." Afi said, smiling at Sakura brightly. "You saved me. I'm indebted to you so I must serve you for the rest of my life."
"Miss Elise?" Sakura questioned once more.
"Mhm, she told me to wake you so we can eat breakfast." Afi said, flapping his tiny wings as he hovered above her.
Sakura pushed away the sheets and sat at the edge of the bed. She looked down at her attire and realized the woman had changed her gown somehow. She now wore a simple beige pants and white t-shirt. She tried to run a hand through her hair and realized it was braided into a loose braid.
"Well, shall we?" Sakura said, standing up and smiling at Afi.
"Yes, Master!" Afi said, landing on her head. When Sakura entered the dinning room she didn't expect to see cups, plates, forks, and food flying around. Sakura stood rooted in her spot shell shocked.
"Miss Elise can use magic. She called it 'Telekinesis Magic'." Afi said, from his perch on Sakura's head.
"Magic..." Sakura thought, as she watched Elise use her hands to direct the food and plates. Strange white seals were spinning around from her hands. So this was magic, she thought with wide eyes. The strange power inside her was magic, not chakra. There was so much for her to learn about this new world and it was slightly overwhelming.
"Have a seat you two." Elise said, as the last fork landed on the table.
Sakura felt her stomach growl as she eyed the food that look absolutely delicious. Sakura sat down at the table with Afi still perched on her head. The smell of the food was overpowering that Sakura couldn't help but dig in before Elise could allow her too.
"Master!" Afi scolded from atop her head.
Sakura stopped mid bite and dropped the chicken leg back on the plate and wiped her mouth, her face red from embarrassment. Elise was looking at her with wide eyes and soon she burst into laughter.
"I haven't seen someone eat like that in a long time!" Elise laughed, making Sakura inch further into her seat, trying to hide herself. Elise gave her a huge grin. "Go on and eat."
"Thank you for the food Miss Elise.." Sakura whispered before digging in.
"What about me?" Afi whined, pouting. "I want some fish."
"Afi, kittens shouldn't whine." Elise scolded.
Afi folded his ears and looked down. "Sorry, Miss Elise."
"However, I made something special for you." Elise said, as a magic circle appeared on her hands. A small cupcake and a small tea cup hovered over towards Sakura and landed next to her plate. Sakura looked down at it in wonder.
"What is it?" Sakura asked.
"It's fish tea and fish cake. Specially made for Afi." Elise replied.
"Really, Miss Elise?" Afi asked, flying up in the air and landing by his food.
"Yes, now dig in!"
"Thank you for the food Miss Elise!" Afi yelled happily before taking a bite of the cake. "So delicious!" Sakura watched as Afi dig into his food and smiled. She felt some sort of attachment to the kitten. They both woke up in a forest of fire and found each other. Her first friend in the new world was a kitten...
"New world…." Sakura pondered, her mind slowly recalling the strange dream she had. Sakura's eyes widen and she looked up at Elise. "Miss Elise?"
"Yes child." Elise said, looking at her.
"Do you know anything about a lost Temple?" Sakura asked, watching as Elise's eye twitched. As a ninja she was trained to watch for the slightest of body movements that may give away information. Those senses hadn't disappeared.
"What do you mean? Elise said, leaning forward and resting her elbows on the table.
"I had a strange dream. I was in a temple that was in ruins and then in a strange library." Sakura replies, "Something told me to find the temple. That I must take the mark."
Elise gasped, standing from her seat so fast that she knocked over the chair. "A Child of Aquarius? Here?!"
"Child of Aquarius? What does she mean Master?" Afi asked, looking between Elise and Sakura.
"The Child of Aquarius, a human who lived the last age and managed to live another age. The only one who could take the Witch's Mark. My family waited generations for you to arrive and to think you arrive at my doorstep." Elise said, tears falling from her eyes as she dropped to the ground. "My Lady, I humbly serve you."
"Since you know of my true origins then you must know I know nothing of this world." Sakura said, ignoring the woman's behaviour and not willing to question it.
Elise got up from her spot, head still bowed. "The temple will reveal all you wish to know about this world and about your magic."
"Master's magic?" Afi said, flying up to Sakura and landing on her head.
Elise nodded at Afi and turned to Sakura. "Have you tried use your magic?"
"Yes, I tried when I woke up but...it seemed to backfire on me somehow." Sakura said, remembering the pain that occurred.
"That happened because you haven't take the mark yet. Right now, you're a blank slate. You have the magic inside you but you can't use it. Only you can take the mark."
"I see." Sakura thought, understanding why the magic backfired. So what happened to her chakra then? "So what happened to my chakra?" she asked.
"You chakra as you call it, my lady, was fused with the magic of this land. This is the reason why only you can take the mark. Only you, a child from the Aquarius Age can take the mark. It's in your blood." Elise said.
"So you're saying my master is very very very old?" Afi said, swishing his tail.
"Afi!" Sakura gasped, glaring at the feline on her head.
"Sorry master." Afi squeaked, smiling down at her. Sakura shook her head and turned to Elise.
"When can we go to the temple?" Sakura asked, wanting to see the temple and learn all she could.
"You're already here." Elise replied, raising her hand as a magic circle appeared beneath her. The entire house shook as the wall behind her parted, revealing stairs that lead down into darkness. "Follow me." Elise told them, before stepping down into the darkness.
"Do you really think we should do this, Master?" Afi said whispered, his voice shaky.
"It's ok to be afraid Afi. You have me here with you." Sakura said, looking up at the kitten.
"You're my best friend Master. I'm glad you're my first friend." Afi said, tears in his eyes.
"You're my first friend too Afi. Sakura replied. "In this world." she added, in her mind. Using a finger, she wiped away his tears. "Now let's follow Miss Elise."
"Aye Master!" Afi cheered as Sakura walked down the stairs.
.
.
The temple was as she dreamed. It was magnificent and she couldn't stop herself from staring at the statues and ancient paintings. There was one of a nine tailed fox too that brought back memories she didn't want to face yet so she quickly looked away.
"Woah, Master. Is this just like your dream?" Afi said, flying through the air behind Sakura.
"Yes, it's beautiful isn't it?"
"Of course Master!"
"My lady, over here." Elise said, looking back at them. "The library is over here."
Sakura and Afi followed Elise through the arc way. After walking through a series of halls they came upon a library.
"Welcome to your library my lady." Elise said, bowing her head.
Sakura's mouth was wide open. The dream didn't do the library justice at all. There was so many books here. It was like she was transported back to her genin days when she used to study in the library, learning so much about Konoha history and more. Sakura passed Elise and found herself standing by one of the two desks in the library. She grabbed the book and there wasn't a speck of dust on it. The book was about the Theory of Magic and it's applications.
"This place is amazing!" Afi yelled, flying around Sakura's head in a circle.
Sakura's breath hitched, overcome with emotion. "It is..." she whispered, before turning around. She gasped, her eyes widening.
"What is that?" Sakura asked, her eyes never leaving the statue of a woman with bowl. The water gave off a golden light for a few seconds then a black light. Sakura moved closer to the statue and the closer she got it got brighter.
"Good luck my lady!" She heard Elise shout and could hear Afi yelling her name. Sakura tried to run but the bright light enveloped her entire form until she could see nothing but darkness.
"Welcome to your trial child of Aquarius." a voice said, then a spectral being appeared in the form of a woman. Golden light illuminated from it's form and melded with the darkness.
"What is the trial?" Sakura asked, her mind going through possibilities. "Do I have to fight someone? Get an item?"
The entity chuckled. "No child of Aquarius. Your trial involves five questions that determine if you're worthy of the mark or not."
"Questions?" Sakura questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, you must answer them truthfully." the being said, it's voice ethereal. "These questions will make you face the past you're so desperate to forget. Are you ready child of Aquarius?"
"Yes." Sakura said, waiting for the entity to begin.
"After the war you started having dreams about the end of your age. Why didn't you save your friends, family and people?"
"I wanted to save them. My friends, my people, I loved them and wanted to save them but they all thought I was crazy. The entire village saw me as a laughing stock rather than a kunoichi. I told them of my dreams and they brushed it off laughing. I tried and kept trying until I was put in the psych ward for having crazy delusions. I escaped with the help of my last friend at the time. When the end came it was too late to save them. In fact, I didn't want to save them. I only wanted to save one person and I couldn't even save him."
"What do you think of friendship and love?"
"I think of friendship as a sacred bond between two people. It's about being selfless and sacrificing for others. A friend taught me that." Sakura replied, looking behind the entity as if staring into a memory. "He also taught me that I had no idea what love was. He was right, in the sense. The love I was looking for wasn't...the best. There are different kinds of love and the love for friends I understand. But I know next to nothing about romantic love. However, everything of value that we will know in this life comes from our relationships with those around us. Because there is nothing material that measures against the intangibles of love and friendship.
Is the world black and white? Many see the world as good and evil but is it really so?
"To see the world in black and white is to live within the contours of extremism. This outlook divides the world into right versus wrong, good versus evil, and yes versus no. Black and white thinking is also flawed because it inherently assumes a static world. It is dependent upon everything and everyone maintaining the role that such thinking has already preordained. I think everyone in this world is inherently grey, whether they like it or not. We all do good and evil. No one is completely evil or completely good. We're all grey, a mixture of both."
"If you could bring one person from past here now with you. Who would it be and why?"
"I would bring back Naruto." Sakura whispered, tears falling from her eyes. "He's the only one who really deserved to survive. He was the only one to believe me. He went against his own wife to help me escape from the hospital. He abandoned his village to help me. He gave up his dream… He of all people were the most deserving to be here, with me. He's one of the greatest persons I know."
"What do you intend to do now in the Age of Capricorn?"
"What do I intend to do? Good question… since I don't know." Sakura replied, wiping her eyes. "I think I want to find something to live for. I spent the last moments of previous life struggling to survive. Now that I'm here. I don't know."
"Well done child of Aquarius. I have sensed you answered those questions with the utmost honesty. You have passed thy test, child of Aquarius." The entity said, it's voice echoing in the dark void.
Sakura let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. The being forced her to deal with her only regret and that was Naruto not surviving along with her.
"Before you go, I must tell you that you will have a fateful encounter one day. Study hard, gather your strength and FIGHT for it won't be easy." Sakura watched as the being exploded in a flash of light.
Sakura's eyes snapped open, staring at the sunlight peaking through the hole of the temple. She sat up immediately.
"MASTER!" Afi cried out, crashing into her and sobbing. "I thought you died Master. I thought Miss Elise killed you!"
Sakura smiled, petting Afi's head. "No Afi, Miss Elise helped me. I'm fine now." she whispered, hugging the kitten close.
"You have passed the trial my lady." A smiling Elise walked up to her. "I had no doubt that you would pass and your mark is beautiful." Elise pointed at her right shoulder.
Sakura looked at her right shoulder. The Witch's Mark, a voice whispered in her mind. The mark was simple yet beautiful. On her shoulder was a golden sun with a white half moon connected just outside the sun. She could feel the magic radiating from it.
"You feel the magic don't you?" Elise said, smiling. "Now look around us.." Sakura looked around at the Temple and everything seemed repair itself. The giant hole in the ceiling was repairing itself after years of decay.
"How?" Sakura asked in disbelief.
"It's magic!" Afi cried out.
"Afi is right. You passed the trial and have the mark. This temple finally has a master, my lady, and that is you." Elise said, bowing her head.
"This is all so surreal..." Sakura whispered, looking at the beautiful temple.
"I know it must come as a shock to you. I'm sure you haven't even fully assimilated the information of you being in a new world but as your loyal servant. I seek to help you."
"I want to help you too Master!" Afi said, enthusiastically.
"Well, we should get started." Sakura said, standing up from the bed and grinning.
"Come this way my lady." Elise said politely. Sakura and Afi followed Elise as they head into the library. It's strange how Elise's attitude changed entirely once she found out who she truly was. Sakura shook her head, laughing inwardly and sat down at the desk. Elise turned to her and began.
"Since my family knew of your existence we were forced to understand your world and learn everything in order to teach you. Before we begin the real training. Your mark comes with some added benefits."
"Like what?" Afi asked, before Sakura could.
"The first benefit is Shadow Gift." Elise stated. "This gives you the ability to use extremely dark magic without it affecting your mind. Most black magic is said to alter the mind and you have protection from that.
The second benefit is the ability to warp or teleport from one location to another. However, you must have seen the location already and it must only be of a certain range.
The third and fourth benefits are the knowledge of light and dark potions. You will find it easier to understand potion tomes or tomes on alchemy and recognize herbs or medicinal plants. These abilities are know as Witch's Brew and Toxic Brew."
"You don't know the range of my warping ability?" Sakura asked, intrigued.
"No, my lady." Elise replied.
"I like the idea of being knowledgeable on potions. I was a medic back before everything happened, one of the best in fact, at least I will find comfort in this." Sakura said, smiling.
"Of course my lady." Elise replied, nodding.
"Master you're so strong already and we haven't even begun training." Afi stated, in awe.
"However, Shadow Gift is the most surprising one. The ability to use the darkest of magicks without affecting my mind..."
"Yes, my lady. This library contains everything you need to know. My family spent years collecting tomes of all sorts. Tomes on black magic, light magic, elemental magic, enchantments, summoning and more."
"Really? Well then, let's begin training." Sakura grinned, bumping her fist with Afi's paw.
"AYE MASTER!"
As we begin the Age of Capricorn, let's do what we can to wipe the slate clean and be new, fresh, enthusiastic souls travelling with our companions, embodied on our journey of life. Love even strangers because help could come from the most unexpected place. The most important thing to fully know in this coming age is yourself.
