Shizuo's POV
On the streets of Ikebukuro was some of the most irritating people. Though nothing comparing to that bastard Izaya Orihara. That guy has been my enemy since school. Every time he's around, something bad is bound to happen.
Aside from Izaya, were the others.
There was Tom. My deal collecting associate. Also the infamous Black Rider, Celty. One of the only people in this city that I can get along with. Of course there's also the sushi chef from Russia, Simon, and the crazy girl Kureiji. Then a few others. Like Shinra and Rosuto.
Everyone's lives here are ordinary and peaceful. Not a stone turned over and grass greener on this side or whatever. Then again, that's a bunch of bull.
In fact, every stone is turned and thrown at people's heads, and that grass isn't even on this side. It's covered with the hard n' cold pavement of reality.
As of today, debts were easy to collect. I didn't have to do much. Still, something was getting on my nerves. Then Tom and I got some sushi and it had that same taste. Nothing new there. And now I'm standing in the middle of a gang of morons. More than likely put here by that Izaya. Again, completely normal.
"Izaya!" Each person came at me with blind punches or some sort of mishandled weapon. Probably a poorly chosen mix of Yellow Scarves and former Blue Squares. Of course, they were all irritating. They smelled like crap. Acted like it too. Not one of them were hard to beat. Soon enough, they were all in gutters or somewhere hanging and with bloodied faces and bruises. I had cuts here and there, though my hands were fine thanks to Celty's gloves.
"Izaya! I'll kill you once I find you!" And then was my usual death threat to that bastard.
Everything was perfectly normal, and then came the night.
That night was a full moon, a storm came, and then it happened...
Not normal...
