Hello everyone, I am here to offer up another challenge story, this one involving the DCAU Universe with the Justice League and the Monkey King himself. Here is the plot line I would like to see used.
"An expedition by a well-funded group of archaologists into Chinese mountains unearths a hidden temple with what appears to be is a massive stone egg with numerous ancient carvings and characters set upon it. After extensive study, the archaeologists determine that it is a replica of the stone the Monkey King, Sun Wukong, was born from and was perhaps once used as a shrine. The findings of the expedition are eventually shown off around the world in numerous exhibits before ending up in Gotham city. Such priceless artifacts have gained the attention of many unscrupulous villains who wish to steal and sell them for the highest bidder. A small group of such villains disrupt the Gotham exhibit of the "Shrine of Wukong" to make them rich beyond their wildest dreams, but finds themselves having to contend with the likes of Batman, Hawkgirl, Wonder Woman, and the Martian Manhunter. During the ensuing fight, Hawkgirl's magic disrupting mace comes into contact with the supposed "shrine" to Sun Wukong, but instead of shattering the egg, it begins to begins to glow before exploding outwards! What do they find inside the egg? A very sleepy Monkey God who is about to wake up to a whole new world of adventure. Can the Justice League handle such a brash, ancient, and powerful individual wanting to join their ranks looking for some good fights and beautiful vistas? Only one way to find out.
A few other specifics and requirements:
The version of Sun Wukong, in regards to how he looks, I wish to see in this story is an entity who looks like a hybridized version of a human being and a monkey, a good representation would be to go to (let's see if I can get this done without it being automatically deleted) deviant art / com (just put the words deviant and art together and replace the slash with a period to get to the website) and type in Sun Wukong in the search bar and find the picture done by furan-san. I did not try to attach this picture to the story since the drawing by furan-san has a "Do Not Use" sign under it.
Romance is an option, but I say try to go outside of the involving the Monkey King with any core Leaguers if you want him to stick to someone in the Justice League. I think getting him involved with the sorceress Circe would be pretty interesting.
Sun Wukong is a very powerful character, and due to his god-status, otherworldly strength, mysticism, and fighting ability, makes him one of (if not the) most powerful member of the Justice League. Despite his power though, he is often considered to be quite brash, bull-headed, and arrogant with a nice dash of a temper-problem. Also considering he is interacting in a world with incredible and powerful beings as well as technologies, doesn't mean he has no way of getting beaten or hurt, even with his immortality.
I would prefer for this fic to take place sometime before the Thanagarian invasion and see how his inclusion into the Justice League may effect the world and the League itself as a whole.
