Hey everyone. This was written for Halloween Feel Box on Funfair Events of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I used Box 3 prompt 10 which was the pairing of Percy Weasley/Head Boy badge. I have to say this one of the weirdest pairing I have written for yet. But be that as it may I hope you all enjoy A Badge of Love.
"Percy, dear," came his mother's voice from the doorway, "this arrived for you with the Hogwarts letters." She walked over to his bedside table and place a envelope on it. "It's right there on the bedside table when you get up." With that said she left to go break up whatever problems the twins seemed to be causing in their room.
Sighing in annoyance at his younger brothers's antics he threw his legs over the side of the bed. If Fred and George were going to be loud and keep everyone awake the least he could do was get dressed. Walking over the wardrobe he grabbed out the clothes that he'd picked to wear last night. Once he was dressed in the dark blue jumper and slacks he'd chosen he walked over to the bedside table.
"I guess I'd better see what's in here," he murmured to himself. It was probably another prefects badge he thought as he opened the envelope. It felt like a prefect badge anyway.
The glint of gold caught him by surprise. Prefect badges were usually silver or at least that was what he remembered from being a prefect last year and the year before last year. He pulled the edge of the golden thing out and almost choked on his own spit.
"I'm Head Boy," he screamed practically sounding like a girl in the process. "I'm Head Boy."
He looked lovingly down at the beautiful piece of golden excellence in his hand. It looked back up almost as lovingly at him it seemed. Or least that was how it seemed in his mind. He wondered if anyone else would see it this way. He stroked a finger across her face feeling the words Head Boy engraved on her. He'd dreamed of being Head Boy ever since Bill was made Head Boy his last year of Hogwarts. He'd always been jealous of how the golden badge had looked on his older brother but now the badge was his.
Pinning the badge to his shirt he headed out the door to meet up with his family for breakfast. He wondered if anyone else would notice her or if he'd have to point her out to anyone else. Sitting down tried to pull everyone's attention to his chest. To her. To his precious. To his Head Boy badge.
"Is something the matter, Perce?" came Fred's voice as he looked at Percy oddly.
"I'm Head Boy and none of you has noticed this," he hissed like an angry child as he went off to sulk at the end of the table with his Head Boy badge. The badge seemed to be the only one who understood him and that was all he needed.
I hope you all enjoyed A Badge of Love.
