"I hate just sticking around here sarge…" Private Santiago muttered under his breath.

"We do our duty for the good of Earth, and right now that's staying in this bunker and reporting in every hour on Zerg movement." His sergeant said.

"Yeah but why on this rock?" the firebat of the team yelled from the other end, about 50 centimeters as he surveyed the surroundings with the only pair of spotter binoculars in the bunker.

The team of four, the sergeant, 2 marines and the firebat, had been posted to a planet known only as alpha 44 for a little over a year by Fleet Com. Little did they know that this had been planned by Fleet Com to be the last thing they saw…

"Shit!" The firebat, Corporal Capone yelled. Zerg movement, about 2000 xenomorphs.

"Have they noticed us? Report!" The sergeant snapped at once.

"They're heading for us sarge…"

"Battle stations!"

The atmosphere in the bunker drew tense as they took up positions, readying themselves for the first action they had seen on the deserted planet.

The marines clicked their gauss rifle's safeties to automatic, and steadied the weapons on the four strategic vantage points in the bunker wall.

The firebat lugged his flamethrower on, prepping it for combat.

"Then the ground started to shake as the lone bunker and its four occupants were rushed by little over 2000 xenomorphs or zerglings as they were called.

"Here they come…"

"Fuck there are so frickin' many sarge…"

"Well then just die fighting, soldier…"

"Nice prep talk."

"Nice serving with ya boys"

The marines knew no nervousness, they were as tough as nails, but as they saw this massive rush, they only knew fear and how to operate their weapons.

As the first wave came rushing, the marines opened fire, and the sound of guns firing filled the air, and the blood of the xenomorphs sprayed as their bodies were hit by the high velocity rounds, entering at one end, and out the other by the momentum of the now corpse.

The first wave was barely over and there was just a click as the marines ran out of ammo. In front of them were about 500 corpses, and more were coming.

Suddenly behind them, their communications system blinked to life…

The battle field in front of them lit up with a red light…
