Why is the sky so much bluer?

Why is the breeze so perfect today?

Silver didn't quite understand things such as emotions and feelings.

She knew that. It was, after all, painstakingly obvious from all those apathetic and confused he had shot her way throughout their encounters. (It was World War IV, and she was dropping her emotional bombs all over his trench while he slept under an extremely thick, Emotions-Proof tent.) It was also painstakingly obvious how she positively brightened when the red head was within her vicinity. ( No matter how cold he acted.)

Kotone knew what else was obvious. She knew, from the beginning, who the boy had feelings for. She knew who he likes, and knew that it would never be her. There was no way she could be on par with the long-haired, older beauty. She knew her love was one-sided, right from the start.

Her love was always one-sided anyway.

(Painstakingly one-sided.)

And it was okay. She would continue to harbor these unrequited feelings towards this cold ice cube who barely even acknowledged her. Because. Because she loved how he used monosyllabic words all the time. She loved his frowns, his smirks, his charisma, his personality, him. She loved him.

And yet she would keep it a secret. A small little secret which clawed and gnawed at her when she sat next to him. When she walked with him. A secret which tore a little hole in her every time she saw him.

It was okay. It hurt, but it was okay, because she at least could see him around. She could see him, and that was all that mattered. He won't disappear. (Not yet.)

He was less than a foot away.

"The, uh, sky looks particularly bright today!"

"Hn."

A/N: I hate one-sided stuff...but that's all I write bahaha. Oh wow I haven't submitted a story since who knows when whoops sorry. Oh hey the song lyrics are from Good Day by IU. Yup.
