"Gin?" Her whisper broke the silence between him.
He rolled over, stretching his arms sleepily. "Mmhmm?"
"Don't leave, okay?" He always left. Sometimes he didn't come back for days. Rangiku stared at his thin frame, brushing a few wisps of blond hair out of her face. Waiting for an answer.
Sitting up, he squinted at her, his silver- grey hair mussed from restless slumber. "Alright," he yawned. "Can we go back to sleep now? I'm really tired."
She smiled as he curled up again. "Good night…" Maybe he wouldn't keep his promise next time. But she was confident of his assurance for tonight.
Closing her eyes, she drifted into sleep, and for the first time in months, didn't have nightmares of being alone.
