Caller of Death
by: Dekiru-chan
I am the caller of death.
I am entwined between the ceased and the living.
Woven between the braid that lashes like a barbed whip.
The sting that burns into my flesh.
Making me arch my back in agony
and scream with torment.
I say I am the caller of death
I bring the existing to the warm embrace of death
Before I renounce them
I gaze into their eyes
Eyes that dance with sorrow
and overflow with an applause of diamonds.
The caller of death
Is feared by all
Hatred froths from the souls of those who oppose me
Tears drop from the eyes who are saddened
I loathe and am hated by those I take
I am the caller of death
Yet... when you gave me that flower
You laughed brightly and shone like sunlight
Chirped like a sweet bird humming a melody
and skipped away, golden rays playing with your silken hair
The caller of death smiled
The hate dissolved in a pure mist of compassion
I bloomed and unfurled my wings into both.
I was a Duo.

De-chan's note: o.O Where did this burst from? Probably the music... it always influences me... Anyone have Omi's song, Epitaph, from Weiß Kruez? It's so calming and despondent. T-T That's a epithet for me, unless I'm watching Kare Kano and drinking 5 cans of soda. ^.~
Summary: A touching poem about Duo and his role as Shinigami... and a sweet memory.
