A/N: This is my first fanfic ever. Let me know how I did! =]
Disclaimer: Not S. Meyer. This breaks my poor little heart.

There are wolves outside tonight
I can hear them breathing now
There are angels here inside
Who fight for us
In the end we all decide
You takes our lives
In the end we all decide

Jacob's kiss was still imprinted on Bella's mind during the fight - hot, gentle, hungry. A knot formed in her stomach from the guilt. She knew she could never find the strength to leave Edward, but Edward's kisses were so different from Jacob's.
Jacob never treated her like she was fragile.
Sure, Bella tripped on her own feet every few yards, and attracted vampires from half way across the world, but she wasn't made of glass. Jacob treated her like an equal, not like a child.
Edward was careful, always careful, perhaps too careful. His boundaries were drawn with a thick line, whereas Jacob's boundaries have been blurred form the start.
A war raged inside of her mind while a war was brewing in the forest. Bella was so consumed she didn't even notice the two vampires approaching the tent…
Wolves howled in the distance.

Jacob slipped in and out of consciousness, trying to fight off the morphine. It was just his fucking luck that Leah had to do something stupid, while he had to cover up for her and banged up in the process. Not to mention that he picked the wrong fight and Seth got all the glory. The glory that should have been his.
He should have stayed with Bella, like she begged him to.
"Yeah, just my fucking luck," he mumbled under his breath.
He heard a soft knock on the door.
"Go away," he grumbled. He didn't want to deal with anyone's crap right now.
"Jake? It's me," Bella said softly as she opened up the door.
She gasped when she saw him; he's never looked so vulnerable before. Jake was always confident, smug even, and always put on a poker face to hide his real feelings.
He was hiding nothing now. Pain was etched into every inch of his skin. Pain that she caused him. Bella couldn't bear what she put him through.
"Hey Bells, glad to see you're okay," Jake managed to croak. Figures, it was just his luck that she had to see him when he felt like utter shit.
Bella didn't bother with small talk, she just went all out.
"I know what I want, Jake."
"What?" Jacob bit his lip. Figures she has to go break my heart when I'm like this. Hasn't she ever heard of sympathy for other people? I don't think I can take another heartache.
"I chose. I know who I want to spend the rest of my life with." She sat down on Jake's left side, and held his hand.
"Look, Bells, you didn't have to come here to tell me that you want to be with the bloodsucker. I already know that. You could have saved yourself a lot of -"
"It's you, Jake. It's always been you," Bella whispered as she closed the distance between their lips.
Jacob could have sworn that he died and went to heaven.
