Jack grumbled disapprovingly as he felt the warm morning sun hit his face.

"Get up sleepy head," Kate chuckled, drawing the curtains open.

Jack tried covering his face with his arms, "it's early, I don't have surgery this morning." Kate laughed lightly and walked over to the side of the bed, she playfully nudged his leg with her knee, "sorry to break it to you buddy, but you haven't been a practicing surgeon in while."

Jack blinked his drowsy eyes open and took in the reality of where they were. Their little wood cabin on the beach was now what they called home. The last flash they experienced threw them into some distant time in the past and then it all stopped.

Jack looked up at Kate. She was standing next to their bed wearing a white tank-top and a pair of underwear. The morning sun rays silhouetting her body, the cool breeze tangling in her unruly hair, the sight was intoxicating. There was something magical about how the light wrapped around her and danced off her perfect skin. Jack wished he could freeze this moment forever and find new ways to be awed each minute.

Kate moved to grab her pants but was stopped by Jack lightly grabbing her hand, "come back to bed," he pleaded softly. "I have to go pick fruits," she replied, playfully trying to swat his hand away.

"the mangoes aren't going anywhere, Kate," he said back, sitting up slightly and tugging her back towards him.

Kate gave in to him and climbed into bed next to him. She gasped as Jack pulled her onto his lap. He ran his hands up and down her arms, enjoying the feel of her soft warm skin, the daylight bathing her gently.

"Morning," he whispered, kissing her tenderly. He sat straight keeping her in his lap. He grabbed the sides of her tank-top and lifted it halfway below her chest. His hand rested on her growing baby bump, and they sat there for what seemed like hours, his hand caressing her pregnant belly, her hands around his neck, lightly dancing against his skin, his eyes transfixed on where their child was growing.

Jack bent down and kissed the spot where he felt their child's heart beating, "good morning, baby," he whispered against her skin, the moment so intimate, Kate felt a tear rolling down her cheek.
