I OWN NOTHING BUT THIS STORY
America sighed as he looked at the fish swimming in the huge tank. Fish of different colours and sizes were swimming mindlessly around, some in schools and others on their own. America wished he was a fish. Just floating there would be nice.
Someone tugged on his bomber jacket; he turned around and looked down, to see a young boy with ginger hair and brown eyes looking into his blue ones, tear stains were evident on the boys face as he carried his plush octopus.
"Hey there little guy, are you lost?" America asked the little boy, kneeling so he was in eye level with the boy. The boy nodded as he buried his face into his into his octopus plush. "What's your name?"
"Gordon." The little boy replied, feeling more comfortable around America. "Gordon Tracy."
"So your dad is Jeff right?" America asked while smiling at Gordon.
"Yep!" Gordon said excitedly, all evidence of shyness and sadness was gone in an instant. "Do you know him?"
"Well yes, where is he?" America asked.
"Well I dunno." Gordon admitted, "I was looking at the fishes, but then when I turned around he was gone. I think he and my brothers forgot me." Gordon said as he started to tear up.
"Hey hey hey calm down, I will help you find your dad and your brothers." America reassured Gordon.
"Really?" Gordon asked as he looked at America.
"Of course, after all, all heroes help those in need!"
"Daddy!" Gordon said excitedly as he ran to Jeff.
"Gordon!" Jeff exclaimed as he scooped up his second youngest son. "Where were you?!"
"I was lost, but someone helped me find you!" Gordon said as he hugged Jeff. "He's right there!" He said, pointing to an empty space. He noticed that the stranger (who didn't feel like a stranger) was gone.
"Well?" Jeff asked Gordon "Where is he?"
"I dunno." Gordon said, baffled.
-14 years later-
The building was quickly collapsing around them as the smoke thickened, fire surrounding them as Gordon and Virgil hurriedly directed people to the outside of the building.
"You haven't got a lot of time before the building collapses." Scott informed his brothers as Gordon and Virgil checked that they got everyone out of the building.
"Help." Someone wheezed, Gordon turned around to find a man face down on the ground, the fire surrounding him.
"Someone's there!" Gordon shouted as he pointed at the man "Virgil help me!"
"On it!" Virgil replied as he ran towards the man Gordon pointed to. Gordon made sure the flames didn't get out of control with a nearby fire extinguisher.
"Gordon, can you please help me? This guy's heavier than he looks!"
Gordon dropped the fire extinguisher as he ran towards Virgil and helped him carry the man out of the building.
-10 minutes later-
"Hey, thanks for helping me." A man said as he tapped on Gordon's shoulder, which was finished with bandaging someone's arm.
"Oh it was nothing." Gordon replied as he turned around, his eyes widened as he looked at the man's blue ones.
"Of course, after all, all heroes help those in need!"
