It's now the season of fall, leaves are scattered around the premises of where the young Tanuki heir, Tamazuki, resided back in the mountains of Shikoku. The black haired man sighed as he grabbed the rake. Chores... Going back to Shikoku meant he had them now. Stupid ones at that. Raking up the leaves around his small hut like home and washing clothing. Well... Okay, maybe they aren't too stupid.
Tamazuki begun to make a small pile of leaves under a tree, making a path way to his door. This will be difficult... First week of fall and it seems the yard has already been bombarded with fallen leaves. After this he's still going to have to wash clothing, feed his dog, and make sure his younger brother, Yatsura, stays out of trouble.
Speaking of the dog... Where was he anyway? Was he still asleep on his futon? If he still was, he would be bound to wake up. Hopefully after his chores were done with.
Sitting by the door, the white pup stared at it's master in curiosity. What was he doing? What was that odd object in his grasp? How did it move those leaves into one spot?
The leaves... Those caught the dogs interest now. It was a medium sized pile at the moment but Tamazuki kept adding more and more leaves to it every minute. Soon enough he'll be done. The pup was sure of it. The yard was almost clear of leaves anyway.
After about five minutes of the dog staring at his master rake up the leaves, a large pile was made. "Eh? Oh... It's you. When did you get up?" Tamazuki mumbled as we walked over to his dog and crouched down to pet it.
The pup made a happy whine and wagged its tail. Tamazuki straightened up and headed back inside to go grab the dirty clothing. Unlike any other time the white dog would have gladly followed the Tanuki youkai but he still had his curiosity on the leaves he raked up.
It'd be a minute before Tamazuki would come back out, right? He'd have a little time to check out that pile before he'd notice him even around it. The dog slowly and carefully walked up to the pile and sniffed it.
Smelt like moss, mud and... A squirrel? Just then a small, brown squirrel popped its head out from the leaves with an acorn in its mouth. What was it doing in there!? The dog begun to bark and ran straight into the leaves, scattering them all around the yard once more, causing the squirrel to run off without the dog seeing it with all the flying leaves in the air.
"Huh? What's wrong?" Tamazuki asked as he peered out the door frame with a basket full of clothing. His eyes widened as he saw all his work now re-scattered everywhere. "WHA- WHY DID YOU-!?" Tamazuki put down the basket and walked over to the dog who realized what had just happened and leaned down then backed away slightly, giving a slight whine.
"Bad dog! We don't run through leaf piles!" Tamazuki huffed. The dog looked away from its master and glanced around at the leaves. Tamazuki sighed as he picked up the rake once more and started to rake again.
This time the dog waited patiently by the basket and watched his master continue to fix the yard once more. It didn't take as long this time since not to many leaves got far from the pile.
Tamazuki set the rake by the tree and walked back to the basket. "Don't do that again, okay?" Tamazuki sighed. The dog rubbed its head against his leg and barked as an "okay". He rubbed the dog behind the ears and patted its head before picking up the basket.
"I'm sure you didn't mean to..." Tamazuki muttered before heading down to the river to wash the clothing.
