She sits at her desk, re-reading the words she's just written. It's late, there's around, the lab is quiet. She told Danny she was typing up reports, but she's got nothing to type up. All her work is done. There's just one thing left to do before she goes home for the night. But she doesn't know how to say it. Everytime she re-reads what she's written she cringes, she's got so many feelings inside of her and she just can't see the way to tell him what she feels.
"Coffee." She says to herself.
She stands up and walks away from her desk, she doesn't see him in the shadows, as he walks closer to her desk.
He sits down and looks at the words on the e-mail screen waiting to be sent.
Mac,
I love you, I have for so long and I always, always will. Whenever you're ready I'm here.
Yours Always,
Stell.
He smiles as he reads the words over and over again. She loves him, he's known that somehow deep down inside him for a while. He loves her, something he's only just beginning to understand. He reaches out to the keyboard and places his fingers on the keys. Below the e-mail he types his answer.
Stell,
I'm ready. I love you too. I'm in my office.
Love Mac.
He stands up and smiles at the screen before he hears Stella approaching, humming softly to herself, he carefully dashes to his office. He hears the mug fall as she reads the words he's added, watches her face go from shock to unbelief and then to happiness. She slowly walks over to Mac's office. Opening it she sees him sat there smiling back at her.
"I... I didn't realise you were here." Stella says.
"I had some paperwork to finish." Mac answers.
"I'm glad you were here. I don't think I'd have had the courage to press the send button." Stella replies.
"Well then I'm glad I was here too." He says as he stands up and walks over to her.
Their eyes meet, they both find love looking back at them. Their lips meet, in an uncertain kiss, Stella pulls away slightly.
"Are you sure you're ready?" She whispers.
"Never been more certain of anything. I think we've wasted too much time don't you?" He whispers back.
Stella nods and smiles as their lips meets in another kiss, the both of the knowing that they are exactly where they belong, in each other arms.
