"Do you have everything this time?" Noel asked for the fourth time and Ragna groaned.
"Yes yes, and for the last time, yes. Food's in the bag and office keys are in my pocket—"
"What about your phone?" Noel smiled knowingly when he didn't answer. She folded her arms as he patted for his phone but only felt his keys. She pulled what he was looking for out her pockets and wagged it for him. "You left it on the bedside table." Ragna gave his wife no response and just took the phone from her. He gave her a peck on the lips instead of his usual that told her not to sleep tonight. She smiled at the uncharacteristic immaturity and started with him to the door, but two quick small figures latched onto his foot and nearly knocked him over before he could take a step.
"No! Nu doesn't want you to go to work!" Nu whined.
"Stay home, today." Lambda's monotonous voice held the same sadness. Bright pleading red eyes stared at him, and while he'd love to accommodate and just play with them, he couldn't.
"I want too, believe me... but I can't. My boss isn't exactly... lenient." Ragna looked away when he said that as Noel giggled. She knew his boss too. Not as well as Ragna did, but knew tardiness was unexceptable and he'd be punished with a dock in pay. Though Ragna knew something darker was hidden behind the word 'punishment'. That's a Rabbit you don't want to piss off...
Nu and Lambda's cheeks puffed. He didn't expect them to understand, so he coudln't be mad at them. Cute little pups he had. It hurt him to have to hand them off to Noel... but he decided on something else.
"Alright then." Ragna saw he was a good couple steps from the door anyway, so why the hell not? He raised his left foot where Lambda latched all the way then stepped, not too hard for her to fall, just enough to get the rush of a Rollercoaster. He did the same to Nu, the two children giggling as their father circled the couch twice before making his way to the door. It was a gambit and he feared they might've wanted more, but the two just stretched their arms to hug and kiss him before he left. They didn't leave the door until he drove off, the two a little saddened not able to see their father's car anymore. Until Noel cheered them up.
"How about we call your father? When he gets to work, of course."
"But won't he be busy?" Lambda asked.
"Can't we call him now!?" Nu jumped up and down, eyes bright but this time with happiness.
Noel smiled then looked at the couch.
Ragna came to a light and went for his phone, a little worried about Nu and Lambda. Only to realize...
"Goddamnit..."
Hope you guys liked this. Nothing special. My dad used to do this all the time with me! I hated it when he had to go to work, so I held his leg and he walked me to the door and sometimes even ran around. It was fun. Haha, my dad...
