Short little fic that I wrote that was inspired by the songs Memories and Somewhere by Within Temptation, the italics are lines from the songs. Takes place somewhere right before/during Search and Rescue. Not sure how good it is but I hope you enjoy it!
Disclaimer: I do not own Stargate Atlantis or any of the characters or the one line that I used from the episode…
Lost in the darkness, hoping for a sign, instead there's only silence…can't you hear my screams…
The metal cut into her wrists as she struggled against it, screaming as Michael ran a hand across the swell of her belly. Screaming out of anger, out of hate, out of fear. As he brought the needle down she clawed against the restraints and she screamed again, this time it was his name. Michael's hand stilled for a moment and his lips twisted into a smirk.
"He will not be coming for you Teyla. He can not hear you, none of them can."
I'll find you somewhere, I'll keep on trying until my dying day…where ever you are, I won't stop searching…
He was going to find her, he had to. And he wasn't going to give up because she was part of his team, more than that; he knew that she would be counting on him. And when he found her he was going to personally kill Michael in the most painful way he could contrive. Because even though Teyla wasn't his, even though the child she was carrying was another man's, he still loved her. He hadn't exactly worked out what the love he had for her meant. Couldn't distinguish whether he loved her because she had become part of his family or if he loved her in that sense.
Either way it didn't matter, what mattered was that he couldn't live without her and call him selfish but he'd be damned if someone took her away from him. Also, there was the fact that it was Michael who had her and that in itself was enough to make his skin crawl and his stomach clench with fear while at the same time he struggled to control his rage.
The search was only going to end one way, could only end one way. That was with him bringing Teyla home.
The memories ease the pain…now I know why…all of my memories keep you near, in silent moments imagine you'd be here…
There were moments when she floated between wakefulness and sleep, or when she was sedated, that her mind conjured up images. Occasionally they included the team, Rodney and Ronon and Colonel Sheppard. But more often than not they were of John and only John. This in itself she did not find odd. It was just that…some of the memories were not actual memories. She never could remember them in full afterwards; just feel the lingering touch of his hand on hers, the calm that his voice brought to her, the sense of serenity that he gave to her. And the memories. The day that she had first met him, the quirk of his smile. All the times that he had offered her comfort, the comfort he brought to her by simply being there. They helped to keep her mind off what was happening to her, to lessen the fear that was ever present. Because the memories reminded her that he was coming for her, she knew he was coming for her.
As she drifted into unconsciousness she dreamed he was there with her once more. Just the two of them. As the candlelight flickered behind him she smiled. "I cherish these times, when it is just you and me."
When she woke again, though the Wraith presence was nearly unbearably stifling and Michael was no doubt soon to come, she felt peace in the momentary silence. Because John would soon arrive to take her home, she was sure of it.
Like it, don't like it?
