Kaoru centric one shot.
I was in a dark mood...ehehe...Dedicated to my brat and her hubby. This is a very extreme way of putting how I feel XD

Heart in His hands
What is a flower,
that has no petals?
What is a butterfly,
that has no wings?
What is a moon,
that reflects no light?
Unnoticed
What is a feast,
that does not satisfy?
What is a well,
that holds no water?
What is air,
that cannot be breathed?
Unwanted
What is a person,
who is alone?
What is a person,
who has no passion?
What is a person,
who cannot smile?
Unfelt
I am
Unnoticed
Unwanted
Unfelt
Unloved

Hikaru, I think I'm dying. My body aches, it hurt to move, to breathe, and to live.
I haven't gotten my fix, Hikaru, not since her. Not since you pushed me off the bed, and pushed me out of your life.
Your flesh doesn't seem warm to me anymore, but it's only me that can tell that you're dead.
It's sad to say, Dear Hikaru, that I think I'm addicted to you, the old you.
It was all a game. I know, trust me. The way you teased, the way you touched. It was all just for show.
The way I wanted, yearned, needed, craved; was that a game as well?
Oh brother, how could I have been so foolish? How could I have fallen so far and so deep for you? Why did I give you up to her if I needed you so badly?
Simple.
I live to make you happy.
And when I could no longer be of any use to you, I would have to make sure you would forever and always be happy.
With or without me.
...
"Kaoru! Kaoru, I'm home! Kaoru?" Hikaru called out, closing the door behind him. He pulled off his jacket, handing it to a servant. Confusion began to set in as no one answered his call.
He walked up the flight of stairs and down the hallway, making a beeline for their shared room. For some reason he didn't understand, the closer he got to the room, the harder it was for him to call out his twin's name, his mouth drying out.
"Kaoru...?" Hikaru whispered, opening the door slowly with unfamiliar hesitation. The room was still, and nothing really seemed out of place.
The elder twin let out a sigh of relief when he spotted his brother curled up in a ball, his back to Hikaru. He smiled briefly, creeping towards the bed. He crawled on top of it, leaning over so he could see his sleeping brother's face.
Kaoru's eyes weren't closed.
His face wasn't set in a peaceful sleeping expression. Instead, he wore a twisted, sad smile.
Hikaru scrambled away, catching the glint of an object hadn't seen earlier. It was the pocket knife he had gotten Kaoru for his eighth birthday. And it was covered in red...
The scream died in the elder twin's throat. Something was wrong with Kaoru's chest. Hikaru risked it, and crept along the floor, crawling around the bed. Amber eyes widened, but he couldn't look away.
There was a hole in the younger Hitachiin's chest, a bloody mess. Veins and arteries trailed from the hole in his chest to the large, no longer beating lump in Koaru's hands.
Hikaru backed away, no emotion registering to his brain. He was just numb. He turned his gaze to the floor, where a folded piece of paper. He picked it up, and opened it, reading the note's content. It was written in blood.
My heart forever belongs to you.
