He wanted to give her an emerald ring, a ring fit for a princess. Ahamo told him diamonds were the standard engagement ring on the Other Side. Great Gale, how could he afford that on a Tin Man's salary? "It's a good thing DG loves me, or else she'd laugh at this," he told Jeb as he opened the jeweler's box, revealing a modest blue topaz ring.
Jeb smiled at his father. "Just tell her that it reminded you of her eyes, and she'll think it's beautiful."
Wyatt blinked. He did choose it because it reminded him of DG's eyes.
