Pride and Patience

A/N: I wanted to show some some bonding b/t Anakin and Obi-Wan this is set after the Film "The Clone Wars." Ahsoka does make an appearance.

Please excuse any errors. I'm sure there's some that I missed.

"Don't. Just don't." Anakin suppressed the grin that kept threatening. Trying to convince a Jedi Master you were annoyed with him wasn't an easy task. Especially, when you were really just glad to see him.

He might as well have been laughing for how well he was able to fool Obi-Wan. "Oh, come now, Anakin. I only tease because I know you can handle it."

"Of course. I know how much you are enjoying this, Master. This was your fault anyway. I know you probably talked Master Yoda into it."

Anakin could feel his friend struggling to hide his amusement. "You're the Master now, Anakin. I'm only a simple man, offering his fellow Jedi a bit of advice."

"There has never been anything simple about you, Obi-Wan." Anakin crossed his arms over his chest and sighed. "Was I really this annoying?"

Obi-Wan started to laugh, but it came out more like a bark. He shook his head. "Do you really want me to answer that?"

Anakin held up his hand in mock defeat. "No. No I don't. You're already having way to much fun as it is today."

"Who? me?" He raised an eyebrow. Then abruptly, his face turned serious. "You know, you are doing very well with her."

"No. Yes. I don't know." He flung his arms up into the air. "I just don't know. Sometimes, I think I'm not hard enough, then sometimes, I think I'm too hard." He spun and found his former Master's warm eyes studying him very closely.

"I know just how you feel. I had all the same doubts when I was training you."

He couldn't hide his surprise. "Really? I mean, you always seemed so...together."

Obi-wan smiled. "That was purely for show, I assure you. I worried constantly about failing you."

Anakin swallowed. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I was constantly worried about failing you as well Master."

There was a long, but comfortable silence that passed. Obi-Wan reached out and placed his hand on Anakin's shoulder. "We turned out alright, didn't we?"

Anakin smiled. "I like to think so."

"Well then, you see, you two will be just fine. I mean if we didn't kill each other..."

"Ahsoka and I should be just fine." Anakin finished the thought with a huge grin.

"I'm proud of you, Anakin." Obi-Wan whispered. He let his hand fall away, just as Ahsoka entered the room. "I think that would be my signal to leave. You have a busy day ahead of you." Obi-Wan headed towards the door, passing Ahsoka on the way. He gave her a warm smile, which she tentatively returned.

"Thank you, Obi-Wan." Anakin called before his friend had exited the room.

He turned, and Anakin felt his fellow Jedi's affection and pride through the force. "Anytime."

Ahsoka grinned up at him, not so patiently waiting for him to show her a new offensive move with her lightsaber. He sighed. "You do need to work on your patience, Padawan. "

"Isn't that your job to teach me things like that Master?" Her face was a mask of innocence.

She really was too much like him. Anakin had never thought he could respect Obi-Wan more than he already had, now he knew better. Anyone that could train a youngling, especially one like him, deserved to be put on a pedestal.

Then he felt her affection, just as he had Obi-Wan's, and he allowed himself to smile. "Yes, and I plan to start right now."

He sat down on the floor, crossed his legs, and began meditating. "Join me." He said after several minutes. There was a loud sigh, but he felt her sit down next to him.

Obi-Wan was right. They were going to be just fine. He just needed a little patience of his own.

Feedback is loved and adored. Loved it, liked it, hated it I want to know, how else will I know how I'm doing :)
