The Wrong Turn

-Chapter 1-

Prologue: In the beginning Will set out only to win enough money to eat a full meal, though he had other intentions his men knew nothing of. "One more tournament that's it," he would tell them, though they knew just as well as he did that he had no intention of stopping. He was a knight no matter what anyone said and his pride was far to precious to waste with a life in Cheapside. That was why he didn't run the day that he was found out, no he was brave and somewhat stupid but he was indeed a knight. This story is about the next chapter of his and of course Jocelyn's life. So sit back, relax, and read.

Two months after the indictment of Sir William Thatcher

Many invitations had gone out to all the Lords and Ladies, Counts and Countesses, Queens and Kings of Europe, and of course the Noble Mr. Thatcher. Sir William and Lady Jocelyn were to be wed in the beautiful, gothic, cathedral Notre Dame in Paris, France. It seemed like only yesterday that William was lashed to a wooden poll and locked up in a jail cell. Know he was a famous knight who has been asked to serve on the Royal Guard as Captain of the Royal Army. He is to train his men on horseback and swordsmanship, this was of course a great honor to Will.

Now he will start a family of his own with his beloved Jocelyn and hopefully settle down with children soon after. It made Will extremely happy to think that his children would grow up living a life that he only dreamed of when he was a child. No nights without a hot meal or clean water. No one to tell you that you will never amount to anything. The life that Will was deprived of as a child will be the life that his children will be drowned in.

"Will, you look as if you have seen a ghost. Are you well?" Jocelyn asked to show her concern. She had noticed that ever since he had been knighted he acted as if his life was nothing but a dream about to end at any moment when someone will wake him from his sleep. She loved him and nothing could change that.

"Yes, my head is just hurting that's all my love." He answered as if he had just awoken from a trace.

"Sir, a letter has arrived for you from the prince," a servant exclaimed like he was the announcer at a ball. This was the only problem with living the "fancy" life. Servants were more like pests who thought that they were better than peasants because they lived in fancy castles and mansions, but the truth is that they are just a low or even lower because they have to clean up after others.

"What does it say Sir William?" Jocelyn pestered.

"Well, it says that I have been summoned to Kent. I will be joined by a group of the Kings finest spies. We are to spy on a new group of protestant rebels who are threatening to attack the crown." He announced while reading the letter.

"It sounds dangerous Will must you go? We are to be wed in a few months!!" She said in a worried tone.

"If the Prince wishes me to go than I must, Jocelyn don't look at me that way, you now I'll be fine. I promise you that I will be home before the wedding, you have my word." He then knelt down to her side and brought his lips up to her ear and said, " I will miss you like the sun misses the flower, I will always belong to you my love."

Okay so here is the deal! This story is sort of like a test run so if you like it send in a review and it will continue, but if not you will never know what happens to Will. GOOD OR BAD!!:)
